Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I'm a Keralite. I've been heard about this so called Thalappakatty biriyani as an age old traditional tasty biriyani served in Dindigul. I searched for a hotel when i was in madurai. I read many good as well as bad reviews about this biriyani. Though I've decided to have a mutton biriyani along with my friend who ordered Chicken 65 biriyani (they're saying). The menu was a thesis like book that contains few hardboard pages with delicious photos. 5/5 for that menu since while looking on that we could feel like we are at heaven, and we don't care it's massive prize also. There is a waiter boy, honestly doesn't fit for that job. When we ordered two biriyani he was literally begging us to have something additional which he is claiming as Today's special (that dish have around 300rs more). We somehow managed to convince him. Biriyani arrived in a small steel/brass pot with handful of rice stuffed and 4 small pieces (exactly) of mutton decorated on top like chopped onion. We looked each other. We were too hungry and decided to go on with that. Caution: If you are from Kerala, don't even think about it (especially from this hotel). I couldn't find any special in that so called biriyani. Mine and my friend's biriyani tasted exactly the same. Only the crown was different :):) I don't know how this became famous, may be they are holding up their age-old tradition that go well with typical tamilnadu taste. We can't afford the prize also. 240rs for a handful of rice! Oh c'mon. If yoh are born with silver spoon in ur mouth give a try tasting the other non veg items in that hotel, but...

Worst experience I have visited 5 times. Ice cream not available,fresh juice not available . Only biriyani available, even water bottle is not available.. they say no stock... Hand washing area pic attached full of water don't take elderly people they will skip and fall down . Some wall paper pasted in wall is full of fungus.. I have visited four times every time new nes complaint . Mixie not working for fresh juice, refrigerator not working so no ice cream,not possible to add ice in lemon juice since refrigerator is not working.... Do they have any stand-by no.... Sorry I busted my anger on poor female staff becoz I asked four times for bottle water to everyone but they nodded head but no 1 gave me.. Atlast I shouted when food is struck in my throat den they have purchased water bottle from near by shop...

This branch is spoiling the name of thalapakatti. I have visited lot of ur branches in India and abroad but here I have felt so bad.

I would like to share the awful experience I'm getting everytime I visit this ottanchathiram branch. I request the management to close this branch better. When u guys are not able to manage with workmanship y the hell u r running the branch. Y u guys r fooling people. The ultimate affected is ravenous people. This is not the first time.. this is my 4th time experience. Worst worst worst service. No coordination, late service, no proper response, awful service, mistaken orders, mistabled items, no spoons, here u can eat briyani without any side dish. How cool they r saying ...only briyani mam, no side dish! I'm telling this on behalf of many. U guys keep in mind...u r not doing service here. We people r paying more money for food here than anywhr else. Finally we decided not to turn out that side hereafter. Pls dont visit...
