We stopped for lunch while coming from Kanyakumari to Bengaluru. The experience in the restaurant was not that good. We went to their non-veg restaurant. They do have a separate veg restaurant also.
First of all they didn't provide any menu. The person taking the order told us the quick 5-6 names of dishes and no price was mentioned. We were also not sure what the quantity was to be served.
Somehow we ordered Natu kodi Chicken Biriyani and the waiter said chicken fry so we ordered that also. To our surprise he got us 2 biriyani. We never ordered 2 biriyani (cost is ₹320 each). Both had 1 long leg piece and it was not as flavourful as we expected. Chicken fry was nothing but malai tikka kind of chicken. It was decent in taste(₹240)
The person taking the order was not very customer friendly. He is speaking fast and will not give time to think also. Probably they have a business running because it's the most suitable time and place you will reach during lunch hours if travelling on this route, so it's always busy I assume.
The good thing was decent parking and decent washrooms as well. If you are not hungry then it's not recommended to stop here, check for something else.
To the hotel management - Every restaurant should have a menu with the price mentioned on it for each dish. If you have it then ask your waiters to give the menu and let customers decide what they want. Train your order taking person to be a little bit soft spoken and...
Read more1/5 stars - AVOID HARI'S RESTAURANT AT ALL COSTS!
I'm writing this review as a warning to others: stay far, far away from Hari's Restaurant. As a regular visitor, I thought I knew what to expect, but yesterday's experience was absolutely appalling.
We ordered a couple of drinks, including a milkshake and Jigarthanda, and were shocked when the receptionist rudely thrust a QR code scanner at us without even a hint of courtesy. We paid via UPI, only to be told afterwards that it wasn't accepted - after the amount had already been debited from our account!
When I politely asked the receptionist to clarify, he became aggressive and dismissive, telling me to "ask before" paying, despite me having asked beforehand. He then demanded I pay again, promising a refund in a couple of days. The whole interaction was infuriating, and his attitude was completely unprofessional.
But what happened next was even more shocking. When I expressed my frustration and disappointment, the situation escalated, and we had a heated argument. His behavior was completely unacceptable, and he seemed to take pleasure in being confrontational.
The lack of respect and courtesy displayed by the staff is staggering. It's not about the money; it's about being treated with basic human dignity. If you value your self-respect, don't waste your time or money on Hari's Restaurant. Trust me, you won't regret...
Read moreMy review is for the rooms and stay at the hotel here. To be honest, the stay is not worth the money. We had booked two rooms here in November. There were a number of issues with the rooms. The pillow cases were really dirty. They did replace it once we let them know. There is no kettle or glasses/cups provided in the room. (Usually, we do find the facilities to make instant coffee/tea in the room itself with complimentary packets of coffee/sugar/tea in other hotels.) Lots of mosquitoes in the room The fan regulator was broken and there was no way to control the speed. We ended up completely switching off the fan. The washroom had no facility to place anything. We had to use the slab next to the washbasin to keep the soap/toothbrush etc. On a side note, there were no complimentary items in the bathroom as well. No towels were provided. For ordering food via room service, we realised there is no menu provided in the rooms. We should call them up and ask what's available. The next issue was that food was bought without plates being provided. So we ended up using the banana leaf on which the food was brought in.
We didn't really ask or complain about each of these in the reception as we were staying for just one night.
Apart from these issues, the rooms were clean and well kept. The food was okay-ish. Overall I think it wasn't worth the...
