As you cruise a bit ahead of Krishnagiri toll towards Bangalore, there's this place that beckons you. With two other not-so-great experiences within 500 meters, we decided to roll the dice on something new. Now, the name might make you think of the legendary Saravana Bhavan, but let me assure you, there's nothing traditional about this joint.
First off, major props for the spacious parking and clean toilets – two big wins right there. The restaurant itself has gone above and beyond in terms of ambiance and furniture, but alas, the food takes a nosedive. The menu card flaunts a mix of North, South, and Chinese cuisines, but the taste? Completely different and, dare I say, below par.
I went for the North Indian section, kicking off with starters like paneer 65 and baby corn. Surprise, surprise – they tasted like a distant relative of what my taste buds were expecting. The Punjabi curries were the real heartbreakers. The green peas dish was basically peas swimming in gravy, and the mix veg had mushrooms with a tangy twist that left me scratching my head. To top it off, the pulav was on a sweetness overload.
Overall, a solid 1 on 5 for the food. Sometimes, it's best to stick to what you know rather than attempting a taste revolution that ends up disappointing your loyal customers. On the flip side, kudos for maintaining a decent ambiance, providing service, and keeping things clean – a good...

There are the famous Saravana Bhavan chain of restaurants from Chennai; and there are several imitators with similar sounding names; this is one of the latter. This is named Saravanaa.
There are several restaurants all along the Chennai - Bangalore highway, some are glorified Dhabhas and there are fine-dining restaurants on the other end of the scale. This one is a regular, normal, run-of-the-mill kind.
What's good? Spacious, paved / surfaced parking place. No slush even when it rains. Airy interiors, so you will not feel claustrophobic. Ample seating, so there will always be a table available for you. Regular south Indian fare, meals, Dosa etc.
Whats not good... The sambar rice and even the curd rice can be on the spicier side. Ghee is not used much; you can see the oil and Dalda. Service staff seems to be inadequate at peak timings; so they are running around all over the place.
Since A2B is just another 15 minutes away and then there is the Hosur A2B, you can skip this place unless you are very hungry. Not a bad place for a coffee or a normal meal, but nothing special to go beyond...
Read moreVery bad experience in this hotel. No good service at all. We went here because our bus stopped in this outlet while coming from Pondicherry to Bangalore. But they only had very limited food options and that too very bad.
The tables weren’t clean at all. Only small portion of the hotel had the AC on. Rest of the place didn’t even have fans. It was very hot. The food was ordered but no one came with the food till 15 minutes. Our tables were dirty with last customers meals. Only when our bus was about to leave that the food came.
Extreme shortage of staff here and they weren’t able to handle the crowd. The same person is making the food , taking orders and also getting it to the table. Very bad experience.
This hotel is only running because they have some tie ups with KSRTC bus company of karnataka. All these buses stop here due to commissions. Avoid this at any cost. Very bad experience. No other customer you will find here apart from buses.
Regretting it badly. Also, on top of it it is not even a original Shravana Bhawan. Its a dupe copy of the same running with giving commissions to buses.
Nearby there are so many hotels which are good , but the buses will...
