ordered:
Ghee Podi Idli Ghee Podi Masala Dosa Vada
also came with several chutneys, coconut chutney, and sambar
first, the idli. i’ve never had this one this soft in my life - it just has a beautiful, melt in your mouth texture that doesn’t feel like you’re trying to break it apart when eating - rather you’re softly separating different parts from each other
both sides were packed with a podi coating which wasn’t really spicy - but it added an absolute ton of flavor to each bite - to the point where you didn’t even have to dip it in a chutney - the idli tasted fantastic by itself. there was a lot of ghee on here
next came the dosa - this came with the same great podi mix as the idli - which was certainly appreciated. I loved the texturing - which was crispy on the inside and yet beautifully soft on the inside. this made the dosa feel not crunchy but rather soft but firm. this included a masala filling that i wasn’t a huge fan of - but thankfully it was pretty limited throughout the dosa. less ghee in here than the idli
the vada was also quite good - firm but easy to dip into the condiments
as far as the dipping items, i quite liked the sambar - especially with the vada, and also with the idli. didn’t really like the tomato chutney - but i thought the green one and coconut one were really good
that may be the best idli i’ve had in my life. won’t go there with the dosa or vada - but those were still up...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Murugan Idli Shop in Kaveripakkam, Tamil Nadu, and the experience was truly delightful. I tried several dishes, and each one left a lasting impression.
The Podi Idli was a standout, with its unique blend of flavors and the perfect level of spiciness. The soft, fluffy texture of the idlis was a testament to their expertise in this South Indian classic.
The Pongal was creamy and comforting, a perfect balance of spices and warmth. It's a must-try for anyone visiting this idli shop.
The Wheat Halwa was a sweet indulgence. It had a rich, nutty flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. A fantastic way to end the meal.
I couldn't resist trying the Phaddu, and I was pleasantly surprised. The crispiness and the combination of spices made it an excellent side dish.
To wash it all down, the Tea was the perfect choice. It complemented the meal and was a great way to unwind.
The service at Murugan Idli Shop was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. The ambiance was clean and inviting.
In summary, Murugan Idli Shop in Kaveripakkam offers a delightful journey through the flavors of South Indian cuisine. If you're in the area, I highly recommend a visit to savor their Podi Idli, Pongal, Wheat Halwa, Phaddu, and Tea – you won't be...
Read moreWe where travelling from chennai to bangalore, for breakfast we stopped at the most preferred restaurant in the chennai - bangalore highway.
The parking space was vast, they could accommodate 20-30 vehicles at a time. Common washroom is available. As we entered at left side there is a play area for kinds with some limited playing setup.
Their was a wait for 10-15 mins, actually we were at the peak time at the restaurant for breakfast, so it was crowded as expected.
They have a separate store opposite to the restaurant for dry fruits, sweet and snacks.
We have to give our name and number of people and wait peaceful for a peace breakfast.
We ordered podi idli❤️ my personal favourite , vada, podi uthappam, plane doda ended with a coffee. Everything tasted so good, including those 4 colour chutneys. Service was quick and neat, but we were supposed to call them twice to remind them to bring for our table.
Billing took time, because of the over crowd and low Internet range for their card machine.
Price was way too much high, it cost's like we had breakfast at the airport... This explains how much it costs.
Do wear a mask at the waiting area and drive safe, over speeding will still make you reach late to bangalore city, so drive within the...
