Nestled conveniently along the Salem - Ulundurpettai Highway in Thenmangudipalayam, Mythili Mess Biryani Restaurant is a hidden gem for biryani lovers traveling through Tamil Nadu. This spot stands out for its aromatic, perfectly spiced biryani—whether chicken, mutton, or egg, each variety carries a rich, authentic flavor that reflects traditional South Indian cooking methods. Served with flavorful onion raita and spicy brinjal gravy, the biryani here strikes a fine balance between spice and satisfaction. The setting is clean, family-friendly, and ideal for a quick yet memorable food break on the highway. What truly elevates the experience at Mythili Mess is the generosity in taste and hospitality. The restaurant uses quality meat, fragrant seeraga samba rice, and slow-cooking techniques that enhance every bite. Beyond biryani, their menu includes crispy fried chicken, hearty meals, and refreshing beverages, making it a perfect all-rounder for both solo travelers and families. For anyone journeying between Salem and Chennai, Mythili Mess Biryani Restaurant is more than a stop—it's a flavorful destination worth remembering. 📝 Tips & Recommendations: Non-veg lovers, focus on stops like Mythili Mess, Selvi Mess, Saravana Naattukkozhi, and Anjappar. Prefer vegetarian? A2B, Café Udupi Ruchi, New Woodlands, and Murugan Idli Shop will hit the mark. Travellers Inn is your best bet for a clean, no-hassle overnight stay near Salem. Most spots offer clean restrooms, and some even have EV charging (e.g., Attur A2B, Travellers Inn). K.vinoth

I recently visited Mythili Mess in Attur, drawn by the considerable buzz surrounding it. Unfortunately, my experience didn't quite match the hype. The establishment is often lauded for its traditional South Indian fare, but I found the food to be rather average. The mutton biryani lacked the depth of flavor I anticipated, and the meat was not as tender as expected. Similarly, the Nattukozhi (country chicken) fry was underwhelming, with the spices not adequately infused into the meat. These sentiments seem to echo those of other patrons, with one reviewer noting it as "one of the worst mutton biryani and Nattukozhi fry" they've had . On a positive note, the Pepper Chicken gravy stood out. It was flavorful, thick, and complemented the rice well, as highlighted in a review from Crispy Fried Opinions . The ambiance of the mess is modest, aligning with its traditional roots. However, the service was slow, and the staff seemed overwhelmed, even though the place wasn't particularly crowded during my visit. In conclusion, while Mythili Mess has its strengths, particularly in specific dishes like the Pepper Chicken gravy, the overall dining experience didn't live up to the expectations set by its reputation. It's a decent spot for a quick meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again.

It was in the salem bypass. We wanted to have a good biriyani. And the place did not disappoint. The biriyani tasted good. The fish fry is good. Could be better. Parotta with the serwa was too good. As a parotta fan, I highly recommend parotta here. I tried non veg meals for the first time here. And I am glad I tasted it here. All the gravies tasted good. The fish gravy with the fish was just tooo good. We also had pallipalayam chicken roast which was also of nattu kozhi. The only problem that we faced was the nattu kozhi. We were inexperienced with eating nattu kozhi and it was very difficult for us to eat it. But hardcore non veg fans would definitely love it. The service was so good. The person who was serving was so polite and kind. And in terms of parking, it has ample amount to park multiple cars.

Located on Attur Bypass, we visited this restaurant bright and early at 7:00 AM. Upon arrival, the waiter greeted us warmly and kindly requested a 15-minute wait before serving breakfast. His friendly demeanor set a positive tone for our dining experience.

We ordered a variety of dishes including Idly, Dosa, Kudal, and Chops. Each dish was prepared to perfection and tasted delicious. The Idly and Dosa were particularly noteworthy for their freshness and flavor. The Kudal and Chops offered a satisfying blend of spices and textures, complementing the breakfast spread perfectly.

Based on our morning experience, we highly recommend visiting this restaurant for breakfast. The quality of food, coupled with friendly service, makes it a standout choice in the area. We are already planning to return for lunch or dinner to explore more of their menu offerings.

Overall, our visit left us impressed with the taste and hospitality offered by this restaurant on Attur Bypass. Whether you're a local resident or passing through, it's worth stopping by for a...
