Great stop for meal break on the Bangalore Chennai Highway. There is parking space, the place is clean and air-conditioned, the food is great, the restrooms are are clean with soap and abundant water (no toilet paper though). The basic requirements of a highway restaurant are fulfilled well.

The place was a little crowded because we landed exactly at lunch time...1pm. We were a group, and we ordered Quick Lunches, South Indian Thalis, Rava onion dosas, and curd rice. Except for the Quick Lunch eaters, the rest of us were very happy with the food. (I think the assumption is that those who want quick lunch won't care about taste too much 🙂).

The quick lunch was served in a plastic platter, and had 3 kinds of rice: pulau, sambaar rice (bisibele bhaat) and curd rice. It also had a plain paratha/oily chapati, a rice based dessert (not kheer), a dry sabji/karemda/poriyal, an appalam and a coconut based korma. Indeed they came quicker than the rest, but just by a few minutes. In my opinion the South Indian thali was really good. It had the oily chapati and plain white rice and ghee with all the various sides (see pic). I loved the rava onion dosa too. It was pretty big, lots of onions, and had the perfect crunchy but hearty texture that we so love in a rava dosa. The chutneys that accompanied it were delicious, especially the mint chutney. Water was served from Copper jugs and copper tumblers. Chutney podi/gun powder and pickle were on all the tables. They also sell various interesting desserts at the counter (see pic).

Besides food, this place also sells a lot of handicraft stuff and kitchen utilities.. the ceramic pickle jars were very pretty, so were stone bird baths. They had stone chakkis, mortar pestle, iron frying pans and woks, and also the flat stone chutney grinder. There were many other cute decorative pieces and toys. I think it's a great place to stop and admire (and buy) the products of splendid craftsmanship.

Additionally, the clay tile ceilings and clay wind-chimes along the verandah makes the place very homey. The location is very nice too. There's a general peacefulness about it because of the greenery all around. There is a coconut grove right next to it. The restaurant is near a reserve forest, and the view from the verandah is a beautiful green hill range. All in all, the place has a cool pleasant ambience. Perfect to take a break while on a long drive. It's worth seeking out, you won't regret (as long as you avoid the...

First things first, the food was good and the ambience was excellent.

I was driving from Bangalore to Chennai after a long time, I usually visit A2B, since I wasn't hungry i went ahead and tried Saisangeet, which was an HR from where I usually have. It was perfect timing for me. It was visible from the highway and was able to pull over easily. The first thing that attracted me was the fellow Google reviews and the pictures they had posted, so wanted to give it a shot. There was a little bit of wait time before I could sit. The queue management wasn't really there, that was disappointing. Then after a few minutes of waiting I was seated in a table of 4 chairs. The AC was good and the ambience inside the restaurant was also good, it had a vintage touch on some and modern on some,. The table was clean and they ske sure all tables were cleared and cleaned before a customer was seated. There was no menu card, to know the menu or find out the price of what we were ordering.. I ordered Ghee roast (dosa), sambhar vadai and filter coffee.

While waiting to be served, I was exploring the cutlery and the chutneys on the table, they had 3 varieties of chutney coconut, onion and pudina, i liked the onion/tomato which wasn't like the one that I have tasted in A2B, this tasted good. Cutleries were made of copper, i was expecting that the bowls and spoons for eating would be too but no, it was stainless steel. Sambhar vadai was well garnished with loads of cut onion, but the vadai was disappointing, as it was soaked in hot water to make it soggy.

The ghee roast was looking good, it was like an inverted super cone with sides of sambhar and the same 3 chutneys. Dosa had hints of ghee. Sambhar was tasting different from the typical tasty HSB or A2B, cannot beat their proprietary sambhar. Filter coffee was good and refreshing. The wash basin looked clean, but they had the used plates stacked next to it, which was not welcoming, I think A2B wins here. The bill was not high and was moderately priced, i paid 223rs. They accept cash/UPI/cards. The restroom was at the basement, i don't think so it's wheel chair ♿ accessible, even though there is a ramp, it has a stairway to get to the ramp. There was also a savoury shop right outside the restaurant. Parking was on the road, not a dedicated parking lot of the restaurant. Overall it was a pleasant experience, there are lots of places to improve though, will surely try next time when I...

I am sharing my worst experience at saisangeetha today,I made a purchase at their sweets section for 905 rupees, the sales women who were there are highly irresponsible, I asked whether I can gpay the amount for the purchase ,for which she said ok and showed me the gpay code ,after payment was debited she asked me to wait stating that the pos machine switched off,so waited for sometime but then after sometime she told irresponsible stating we are not sure about ur payment,I questioned her back then why did u ask me to make payment in gpay when there is an issue with POS machine for which she told I didn't say like that ,she made me wait for 15 minutes making me frustrated but no proper response then I told her to call some one superior to her ,then one person by name Arun turned up stating ur transaction is declined and giving some wrong information contrary what the previous sales women stated and telling facts contradicting facts, then he showed me a slip showing transcation declined for which I informed which could have told earlier why did u waste my time I would have given cash itself if pos is a problem for which he rudely replied that it's ur fault for which I questioned how could u say like that ,then he rudely told take the items and go as though I came begging for free items ,don't a customer have dignity this is how ur sales person will behave so low grade and demean a customer ,now I am running to pillar to post ,contacting bank for refund for no fault of mine when there is an issue in ur POS machine ,ur company sales personnel if Gpay was not working could have told before in hand ,I could have avoided all this hardships ,so very disappointing ,when ur service is not good what's the point of running such hotels ,I am sure such behavior by ur company sales personnel will definitely ruin ur reputation for sure ,to prove my genuinity I have attached my transaction picture,I have posted basically to make other customers aware that such worst personnel are being placed in such hotels so to be careful when they are taking the service of sai...
