Shri Balaajee Bhavan — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Food 4/5 We ordered idlis, vada, pongal and coffee. Idli was undercooked (Read more about this under service though), vada was soft and normal, not super crisp like most restaurants, but pongal was pretty good and coffee was amazing.

Service 5/5 We came in on the way from Chennai to Pondi for breakfast around 8:30am. It was pretty busy but even at that time, service was great and very fast. Idlies were slightly undercooked but as soon as we indicated this, the server graciously took those away and replaced them with well-cooked super soft idlies.

Ambience 4/5 Not much to talk about here, just a regular restaurant with white lighting. The people make this place very cheerful though, even the bus boys were very joyful and always smiling. Showcased some very thoughtful design as well, with a sink placed at a lower height just for kids and any others who may be vertically challenged.

Would visit again if on the route....

Came here during the lockdown with no expectations. It was a pleasant surprise as found this restuarant serving parcel only dur to covid restrictions.

Location : Prominent location, clearly visible from the main road and in the close proximity of the melmaruvathur temple

Quality : We tasted parotta ; chapati( both were served very hot) curd rice was well prepared

Staff : The staffs were courteous and helpful

Price : The prices were nominal and reasonable

Quantity: To me it looks relatively ok

Hygiene : Though we didn't go inside the restuarant it seems it would be maintained well.

parking lot and landscape ambience was maintained well

Restroom : restrooms were maintained hygenically when we visited

Hope to make this place a regular visits...

EDIT [25-02-21] Had dinner with family this time. Ordered Idli (below average), pulka, panner gravy, ghee roast. Service was quick and courteous and thus revising my rating.

It was an early morning and had breakfast here with family. Unfortunately I lost my debit card somewhere along the way and had very little cash. As soon as I realised it, I told them I could pay through UPI (Gpay, Phonepe or Paytm). They simply said NO and started looking at us like we were going to leave the place unpaid and asked us to check if I missed it on the car itself. After 10-15 minutes, when I about to ask their manager, they said they were ready to accept UPI payments. I don't understand why the fuss all along. Overall it was a bad...
