This a review, I wanted to share It's not about the how tasty the food was, it's not about whether I received the food on time.
It's about the way the team handled the crowd on 2024 June 9th. As it's muhurtham day, we can see the overwhelming crowd at Sundarapuram Annapoorna. Despite of all there were confusions and sad faces awaiting for food, we can see the team serving food fast, walking to then kitchen and dinning area. But I noticed one thing, one Person was covering the overall billing of one complete row, and at the same time she covered few table orders as well, she was calm and quite in handling this, curious in not doing any mistake in the billing. It was quite evident that we have to follow this when we are in work, we know we are overloaded, still we have to focus on our basics else we will lose the focus, so a big kudos to Mrs. Nageshwari, she deserves a applause!
And a special mention for the lady who manage the kitchen things. Reason she was not the one who was assigned with the serving job, but because of the crowd she stood out, served the food and helped the people who were anxious towards not receiving the food. This is a perfect example for a leadership skill, she was in un uniform but she stole the show, could not get the name but the team should know that person.
Good Job Annapoorna, hope you value your family which supports you...

Not crowded at 12:15 PM. Comfortable seating and excellent service.
Caramel Donut: Ordered 2, one heated and one not heated. Good quality, nice and soft. Curd vadai: Average, not properly soaked in curd and was dry in the middle. Curd Semiya: Dissatisfying, curd was watery and not creamy. Since I went to Annapoorna specifically for this dish, I was left hugely disappointed! Ghee Masala Roast: Excellent, masala was evenly spread, partially crispy, and partially soft. Same authentic standard as it used to be 15 - 20 years back! Ghee Rava Roast: Average, too soft with very little cashews. Too soft for comfort! Veg Biriyani: Good, enjoyed it. Different in taste compared to other places. Bread in the Biriyani was a little soft than expected and how it used to be. Rasmalai: Awesome, 6 little pieces in one package. Super soft, tasty, and delicious. Basundi: Good, only 2 small slices of milk. Not highly recommended. Filter Coffee: Awesome, and nostalgic! Authentic taste retained! Enjoyed it.
Suggestions: The management would have to work on consistency on all dishes across their different branches in Coimbatore.
Planning another visit to a branch known for the taste curd semiya offers! Hoping to post a review about it soon after the visit.

Read moreDuring our visit to Coimbatore, our family had breakfast at Sree Annapoorna in Sundarapuram, a place recommended by our cab driver. We had booked the cab for sightseeing, and when we asked the driver for a good breakfast spot, he suggested this well-known restaurant.
The restaurant was bustling but had a pleasant atmosphere. For breakfast, our family ordered dosas and puris, while the driver opted for a simple idly, vada, and sambar. The puris were soft and came with a flavorful potato curry, which we all enjoyed. However, I found the dosa to be just average. It was crispy but lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting, especially given the restaurant's reputation. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t stand out.
The idly and vada from the driver’s order were light and fresh, and the sambar added a nice touch. To satisfy our sweet cravings, we also ordered ras malai and gulab jamun. The ras malai was creamy and indulgent, while the gulab jamun was perfectly soft and sweet.
To end the meal, my dad and the driver enjoyed a cup of coffee, which was a nice, strong finish to the breakfast. Overall, despite the dosa not meeting my expectations, the experience was still enjoyable, and it was a great start to our sightseeing day in Coimbatore, thanks to the driver’s...
