Sri Meenakshi Bhavan — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had – extremely disappointed with Sri Meenakshi Bhavan (Chitlapakkam Main Road, opposite the petrol bunk).

I ordered a veg meal today, which cost Rs.100. What I received was barely average food, served in an aluminium foil plate because, as they claimed, they didn’t have banana leaves that day. Seriously?

It was a limited meal, and when I politely asked for a little extra side curry, I was met with annoyed expressions, like I was asking for something for free. That attitude alone speaks volumes about their customer service.

The biggest shocker? When I asked for buttermilk, which is usually part of a South Indian meal – they flat out said NO. Right in front of me, they placed buttermilk on another table for parcel orders, but told me it’s only for takeaways, not for dine-in. Why charge Rs.100 for a “complete” meal and then deny what’s usually part of it?

This wasn’t even my first disappointment. Just last week, I had ordered pongal and idli from here, and the sambar was stale – it tasted like leftover kootu had been mixed in.

I honestly regret walking into this place again. If you still want to try their food, maybe order from home – because it seems like they treat dine-in customers based on appearance or mood. *This kind of attitude is exactly why many people avoid vegetarian hotels these days.

To the owners and staff: If you're charging full price, serve the full meal. Treat every customer with respect – not based on assumptions. Basic courtesy and good food should be the foundation of any restaurant. Sadly, this place failed on both fronts for me. Also while you are always busy on your phone please check whether your customers are getting good service or not please

Totally disappointed. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Worst...

I ordered food Veg Oothappam,Noodles,Naan,Rava Dosai,Kadai Gobi. I was not well. That's why I ordered and got the food. Yesterday I was very hungry. I ate veg oothappam taste is worthless.Salt not added in oothappam.Naan can't able to eat. Kadai very spicy.Noodles not added salt and not given side dish. My daughter also very hungry but she can't able to eat. My mom got eye cataract.I gave complaint through phone call. He didn't give proper response. He said 200 customers ate and no one tell anything.I went direct to hotel at 10pm.Again he is not given proper response.I called police he came and solve my problem.I got refund of food. Even chutney and sambar tasteless.I hats off to police. I came back by 11pm. Please don't go to this hotel. He is not given priority to customers only money mind hotel. They are not given proper time. Kitchen is not hygiene. They are taking more time to give food. Owner is not give importance to customers. He is not accept...

This is pretty average hotel in this area. They are surviving bcoz no competition. I'm new this area and been trying various dishes to see if it's any good. So far conclusion idly and sambar eatable. Dishes like kaima parotta okay if cooked in front of u. Rest below avg. Today worst day... may be a server screwed up all... dry Chappati.. can eat at all... garbage...even after reheat not worth a penny. Old chilly parotta...not hot...may be made for someone dumped on me... total garbage threw away after few pieces. Either the server fault or mgmt negligence...but crap will talk to owner tomorrow.... Just like other comments they are worst in serving side dishes... for chilly parotta and chapati he gave one pack of karma and small pack of Raitha.. Anyway threw away garbage and didn't endup in side dish shortage....which would end up garbage of main dish. To wrap up...find hotels in near by area...
