We reached the restaurant around 3:45 PM for lunch. It took over 10 minutes just to get a table cleaned and even after that no one came to take our order for nearly 20 minutes. When we finally approached a waiter he pointed to another waiter. Shockingly, both began arguing about whose responsibility it was to serve our table.
Finally someone came to take the order and informed us that meals were over and only chapathi and parotta were available. However we noticed other dishes being served at nearby tables. Since we were hungry we went ahead and ordered chapathi and parotta.
Later we added an order for chilli parotta and mushroom fried rice. The chilli parotta was served in a curry pan and the quantity was noticeably small—we assumed that was the standard portion. But when the mushroom fried rice arrived it was served on a side dish plate with barely 100 grams of food. This time, we questioned the waiter and he explained that due to the Aadi 18 crowd many of their regular bowls hadn’t been washed so he used a side plate instead.
We insisted that he serve the dish in a regular bowl even if it took extra time. Only then did he return with the proper portion in the correct bowl.
If you choose to dine here it’s better to confirm the portion sizes beforehand. Since we had already consumed the chilli parotta we couldn’t raise the issue later and ended up feeling cheated. Despite the poor service and confusion the waiter still had the audacity to ask for a tip during payment.
Overall this was a disappointing experience. I will never visit this hotel again and will not...

Read moreI stayed at the Temple City Box Stay on 01/05/24 and around 10.30 decided to walk down to the restaurant. The morning breakfast crowd was gone and only two tables were occupied. I chose a corner table and sat down. The table was not cleaned and left overs were still lying in the table. I looked around hoping to catch the eye of a waiter, but they were busy chit-chatting. After some efforts caught the eye of one. I beckoned him and requested him to get the table cleaned. He immediately shouted a lady's name and asked her to clean the table and went back to his chat mate.
I waited for more than 5 minutes and nothing happened. Then I signaled to a person who was taking orders at another table.
He came over and I told him my table is not cleaned. His immediate retort was "Do I look like the person to clean the table?". I told him that I was sitting here for a good 10 minutes and because the table was not cleaned I was unable to order. And I had called him to complain that no one was attending to my table. I also told him that Temple City had it's own standard and I have been here before. As a person who appeared to be in charge of the dining hall he should be aware of what is happening in the dining hall.
That got him going and my table was cleared in a jiffy.
I ordered masala Dosa. Well some days, nothing goes right. I got almost whole potatoes in the masala and I got away from the restaurant...
