Writing this review on 07.01.25, 2.30pm. I went for dine-in here, so first i enquired about the availability of items and ordered Mutton biriyani. After taking order, waiter came back and said that, only pottalam biriyani is available. And he also suggest it, since it comes along with half a portion of mutton chukka & omlette. Foolish me, i asked to him to give a plate of mutton kola too. To be honest only the omelette was eatable. Kola was absolutely uncooked, maavaa irukkunga & every piece of mutton was just hard, I realized that it was something that has story from the last day. Immediately i asked them to take away those elixirs and give something which they would have freshly made. After a couple of minutes they came back with another half plate pottalam nd half plate kola, Repeat uh...! Soli ah mudichu vittaainga.... At last since i was been there for almost more than an hour & also chilling in their AC dining hall, i asked them a bill. ₹504, pazhaya sothukkum, vegaatha kola urundai kum. Ungala laam hotel nadathalanu yaaru da azhudhaa? Since i was not in the mood to argue more, avainga nalla neram, i paid ₹250 and wished them to have bright business ahead.
By this review I just want to make sure that no one should experience this kind of horrible times. And also to the owner of restaurant, case edhum aagida podhu...

Read moreA total waste of money! We as a group stepped in to Thanjai Thambi Vilas based on a few Thanjai friends' recommendation and decided to order Asaiva virundhu priced at Rs399 per plate. Sadly none of the 7 folks who ordered the meals finished (not even talking about satisfaction here) The fare was so so so average and a complete disappointment. Though we were wary of Thambi Vilas' reputation in Chennai and their subsequent closure, we still decided to skip Pattukottai Kamatchi mess thinking they won't let us down at Thanjai. A colossal waste of food and around 3000 rupees which could have been put to better use!
The best part, the naatukozhi kozhambu they with the meals came without even a shred of chicken (and had beans in it) and tasted more like the kurma for chapathi and the guy in charge replied saying it was paya style chicken gravy (come on, who does naatukozhi kozhambu in paya style)
I escaped partially by ordering Egg Biriyani only to be served with some avg biriyani which we just luke warm. And the menu mentions Basmati rice biriyani but all we got was more of seeragasamba type broken biriyani (I'd say it was more like ration...
