Thoppu Kari Virunthu - Villankurichi — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

"Simply DHANDAM" I visited this restaurant with family by seeing Google reviews. But based on my experience and also my point of view this restaurant is kind of over-rated. No quality in the food and no taste. Also overpriced. In menu they didn't mentioned mutton biriyani, but we asked to service person "Is there mutton biriyani available?" and he said "Yeah it is available". Then we ordered. But what we received in our table means they pre-cooked some kind of plain briyani and mixed some mutton gravy pieces with that plain briyani. Due to this mixing spicy has increased too much. To restaurant people If you don't have the dish means just say "No, it is not available here". why are you cheating us like this. Another one famous dish we ordered, called, Vaazhai ilai chicken parotta. once I opened that parotta, I felt like they delivered directly from the refrigerator? Because so much chillness and tasteless too. For this parotta they cost us around 200. No one available when you need something. Even to get the water bottle we have waited around 15 minutes, after had that too spicy mutton biriyani (sorry plain briyani). Here for water also you have to pay 25 rupees. If you're kind of person that you will like the presentation(Light settings, kudil setups and some music) over quality means you can go here. But you wanted the quality food for what you're paying, then you should strictly avoid this restaurant. We paid around 1300 and came out with burning stomach. I won't recommend this restaurant to...

Nice restaurant to have small parties in a great atmosphere and tasty food 👍

Location - On Saravanampatty-Kalapatti road, near vilankurichi - little off the main road, Follow google map for directions

Ambience - is nice,small private spaces and roof top set ups, has a big hall and open party space too. In the evening/night with the lights it looks nice. The total setup is in inside a small coconut farm.

Parking - for few cars and many two wheelers available

Service - is quick, from the initial soup serving to the final desert/ice cream the service personnal kept coming and asking (have to climb the roof top stairs every time for serving). Can be improved still (havent kept any glass for serving water, even after asking glasses came late, forgot one of the items ordered) 🥘

Cleanlines can be improved, the tables doesn’t look that great, there are spider webs on the sides and on the decorative lights right on top of the dining table, there is a broken standing fan as well tied with tapes 😆

Quality and taste - is awesome, even though food is a bit spicy for the kids they also loved it, be it the nattukozhi soup, the manPaanai kadai valuval, Nallampatti varuval. The fish curry in the great combo lunch is very average, the fish fry is ok (dam fish).

What a place man.. You don't believe me. Within a week I visited continues 4 times for the same resturant.. Well served.. Budget friendly. Quality and tasty food and friendly team.. Best place to vibe with your friends and family too. This place is Wholesome.. Keep going guys.. Highlight note to Raj.. What a fantabulous work he is doing. Thanks for making my weekend more enjoyable.. You deserve this man.. 🙌

Edit - 29 May 22

Again we visited for a dinner and bday celebration. We went with two children both were very playful. But without any request they suddenly came and take care of the child on their own and let us to have the dinner peacefully.. It is almost 1 hours they taken care of little one.. Also we have cutting cake. It is almost 11:30 pm and we are the last one in their restaurant and they suddenly came and ask our reason for celebration and they played the traditional Tamil songs related to bday without any request. I'm totally flattered with their service.. Guddos to the teams. You guys rocking man. Keeping going. Also we went with eight head count. But we totally surprised with bill amount..
