MUST READ IF YOU ARE TRAVELING FROM LONG DISTANCE TO TRY THIS We were returning from ooty to Chennai and decided to have our lunch here. This place is very remote located in interior part via ponmudi road. Around 5-7kms inside the main highway. This place claims that 700 Rupees for each person with unlimited below items served in a single full banana leaf. But they give single big leaf per two person to share. We demanded to have seperate leaf for each of us. We booked the table for 3.30pm and informed the owner or manager of the hotel that we will be there by 3.45pm max. We reached at 3.45 as informed but there was huge crowd and we had to wait around 1.15hour to get our chance to eat. There is no streamlined management to allot the slots based on bookings. Not all items are unlimited here. They serve you what they want to serve you. Not as per your needs. I asked for extra fish fry instead the lady there who serves forces me to have chicken instead of that. In the name of hospitality they are ANNOYING TO THE CORE. I dont like wasting food so I told I'm okay with the food I have in my leaf, that lady forcedly kept more rice and I couldn't really finish it. Cost to worth= 3/5 500₹ could be correct pricing for this. Taste: 2/5 Mutton curry tasted like washed up utensil water. Quite awful. All the fried items are fried in same oil with same masala. All of them(chicken leg, chicken pepper fry, fish fry) tasted like fish only. Rasam at my home is far more better than what is served here. Biriyani was served hot but bland in taste. Dont expect it to taste good. Variety & Quantity: 3/5 They serve multiple items but in very less quantity. I had turkey gravy which had only one piece that too had no flesh but only bone. When asked for some more of it, they told turkey is limited and only one piece per head. PAYMENT METHOD: ONLY CASH ALLOWED OR YOU CAN DO DIRECT BANK TRANSFER. Else be ready for another 5km drive to find an ATM. Varieties served: - Chicken Briyani - White rice - Mutton Curry - Ratha Poriyal - Thala Kari - Kudal/Boty - Mutton gravy - Mutton nalli gravy - Turkey semidry gravy - Chicken gravy(neck & heart pieces) - Chicken liver gravy - Fried Chicken leg piece - Fish fry - Kaadai semidry gravy (Quail) - Curd with Rose Gulkand - Ice cream Very bad experience and not recommending this to anyone. For 700₹ we can get whole lot of varieties in buffets like ABs or Coal BBQ or even Grill Box in Chennai.

I rarely write product reviews, but my recent experience at this hotel compels me to share my thoughts, which may benefit both the management and potential customers. At Rs 800 per person, the quantity of food served is excessive for an average diner. However, the quality really falls short because there are too many dishes, and none of them are memorable or unique. The overall taste falls below expectations. A notable exception was the well-prepared white rice and the delightful fish kolumbu. The menu includes three types of fried items: Chicken Leg, Fish piece, and Chilly Chicken with masala. Unfortunately, they all seemed to use the same subpar masala, resulting in a lack of juiciness and an overly dry texture akin to biting into wood. The variety of non-vegetarian dishes, such as Red Chilly/Green Chilly Chintamani, Kodal Curry, Thala Curry, Ratha Poriyal, Turkey (Vankoli), Irral Curry, Mutton Curry, Chicken Curry, and Nattu Koli Varuval, were disappointing. They lacked the unique flavors and cooking styles that one would expect from such dishes. Their biryani was also a letdown, not using traditional rice varieties like basmati or seeraga samba and failing to deliver on taste. Post-meal desserts like ice sticks or cream were of low quality, with an unusual salty taste. Even though they were offered generously, the quality did not match the quantity. The service, provided by family members, was friendly and attentive, with a comfortable and homely dining environment. However, this positive aspect was overshadowed by the overall food experience. In summary, for Rs 800 and the effort of traveling from a nearby city for a unique dining experience, the meal was underwhelming. Local options offer better value and taste for a lower price. Observations of uneaten food and untouched fried items among other diners further echoed my sentiments. To the hotel owner, I suggest focusing on improving the quality and distinctiveness of each dish, particularly the fried items and desserts, to justify the cost and effort for your patrons.

UBM Namma Veedu Sappadu is truly a paradise for non-veg food lovers with a big appetite. With its extensive menu, unlimited quantities, and outstanding hospitality, this place guarantees a memorable and satisfying dining experience. The restaurant’s vintage Tamil Nadu-style architecture and interiors immediately set the tone, creating a nostalgic and charming atmosphere. The beautifully crafted decor transports you straight to a traditional Tamil home, adding a unique cultural touch to your meal. Lunch here is a highlight — served on a big banana leaf, which enhances the authenticity of the experience. The non-veg spread is impressive, with delicious options in chicken, mutton, and fish, all served in generous, unlimited portions. While I personally didn’t enjoy the mutton intestine and blood dishes, I truly loved the rest — especially the chicken leg piece and fish fry, both of which were exceptionally flavorful and well-prepared. What sets this place apart is the exceptional service. The staff are incredibly warm, attentive, and polite. A special mention to the elderly “grandpa” figure who exudes warmth and hospitality — his presence adds a homely and heartfelt touch that made the whole experience even more special. While the price point is on the higher side, it’s completely justified by the quality of food, unlimited servings, and top-notch service. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Tamil Nadu feast in a soulful setting.

Dear Friends, This is a review for my friends and travellers who came to know about this hotel through different social media platform and thus got interested to have a lunch from there. Last week me and my friend went to Erode for business purpose. We also saw the videos of this hotel in you tube so we also decided to try for a lunch from there. The hotel is located in a small village in Perumthurai. Almost 07 km deviation from highway. its almost 03.30pm we reached there, at that time also several peoples are waiting for the lunch. Most of the people came there are based on the videos that they seen in you tube. When I saw a video they were said the cost of the meal is INR 500/-. So in my mind it was 500/-. . Then we started for taking lunch, we were two members so they put one big plantain leaf for both of us. One madam started serving food, First the curries will be served with chicken biriyani. They are much concentrating on non vegetarian dishes Chicken, quail and Mutton. Its around 10 to 12 dishes with white rice. it is just only numbers in Mutton you will get very few good pieces rest all are others like a curry made of mutton liver, brain, internal organs, mutton blood etc same like in the case of chicken too. When you get all these one plate you cant even identify the taste of each dish everything taste almost same. They are not wasting any parts of mutton and chicken. So everyone before going there will think that there are so many dishes in non vegetarian but your mind wont be satisfied. You can fill your stomach somehow. Its not buffet. Its the table service they are giving. They will serve if you needed extra but for a normal person he wont ask for extra. What I saw there is most of the people doesn't like the taste of some dishes so lot of food is wasting there. Last they will serve a sweet dish that can be used with curd and an small local made ice cream too. With a real disappointment we went for paying the bill. The owner said INR 750/- per person for a meal. In that time we both understood that we really got cheated with hyper promotion that this hotel is getting in online medias. In my consideration a reasonable value of the meals is around INR 450/-. I spoke with the owner and complaint about this, he is telling that the 750/- itself need to be revised soon. So before you order ask them the price they are charging during that period and dont get trapped after having the meal. In a decent 04 star hotel with this amount you can really enjoy a wide range of menu. its our first and last visit to there. If you have any revenge Send your personal enemies to there. I really dont have any personal issues with the hotel but I wrote this review for the hotelier for having a self assessment of food quality for the price they charged and for the people who go just only by seeing the...

Recently visited UBM after hearing a lot of good things about this Place. Few Good and Bad Points to have in mind before visiting this Hotel

Good Ones None of the food has spoiled my digestive system (Eaten twice there) Look for இரத்த பொரியல் , குடல் Chickne Lollypop these three recipes are awesome in taste. 3.வான்கோழி மற்றும் புறா are ok in taste பொறிச்ச மீன் taste varies from day to day probably freshness of the fish matters most( They should think about turning their attention to this department ) Only item really disappoints you in taste is their biriyani (horrible in taste) they should remove it from the menu

Bad Ones If you are a Heavy Non veg Eater with a good Appetite , You will be disappointed becoz if you ask any side dish for the second time you will not be properly served Even after making an appointment you have to wait Roughly an hour for your turn Seating arrangements has to be improved as two people has to be squeezed in to one Seat If you have kids less than 10 year old its a waste of money If women in your family can not finish an average lunch in any place , for them it is waste of Money and food. If a Film Industry Person (Actor, Director, Producer, even a light boy) is visiting the venue there will be a high discrimination of service between them and us

Their Overall Strategy is serve a lot of items in tiny quantity within short period of time (approx 35 min). Men who has a above average appetite will be highly disappointed If you like one particular item and asked for the second or third time you will not be properly attended .

Conclusion If you are food Lover who likes to tastes different varities of Non veg Probably you will like this place If you are not only food lover but who loves to eat a lot you will be seriously disappointed I would suggest visit on a weekday rather weekend . reach there before 1.00pm

Advice to the Hotel Management

Somebody is ready to travel 80 km to taste your food for 550rs per person so kindly treat them with respect. (not everybody will fall for honey talk) If you want to Treat VIP's (especially from film industry) in a special way, Please arrange a section for them alone show your full care to them but don't insult a common man who is also paying the same 550 rs as the VIP

After all said and done I am going to offer them 4 Star for the taste if the service would have been better i would give...
