Pathetic Experience at Wow! Momo, Ambattur
Today, I visited Wow! Momo in Ambattur with my family, including my 4-year-old child, despite many negative reviews and ratings. I took a bold step to try it, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
Issues Faced:
Untrained Staff: The staff’s response was poor. Unless you specifically call them, they continue with their work as if you are standing in a public toilet. Unhygienic Tables: (Photos attached after table cleaned with cloth - Previous customer momo pieces still in the table) Tables were not cleaned after customers left. When we requested cleaning, a staff member arrived with a single tissue, picked up only visible food pieces, and wiped the table with the same tissue. We expected him to return with a wet cloth, but he never did. I walked up to the counter and politely asked if they had someone for proper cleaning since the table was still sticky. He told us to wait and suggested shifting to another table. This time, he came with an unbelievably dirty cloth, wiped the table, and left. We realized asking again was pointless.
Incorrect Order Delivery: We ordered three items but received only two. After asking, they realized their mistake and provided the missing item after five minutes.
Mosquito Issue: There were a lot of mosquitoes under the tables. If you have allergies, it’s better to avoid this place.
Unfair Charges: (Photo attached) The bill included an additional charge of ₹5 for "Eco-friendly packing" (₹2.50 + ₹2.50). Since the restaurant has a dine-in option, why should customers pay for packaging? As per the Department of Consumer Affairs guidelines, the cost of food should include all components, including packaging.
Feedback: Ambiance and gimmicks may attract customers, but poor service drives them away. The experience was not worth it.
❌ Poorly trained staff ❌ Average taste ❌ Overpriced menu (₹59 for a single piece of chocolate momo—completely unjustified!)
❌ Not...

Lot of startup and people who start a hotel don't understand the meaning of "serving the people". Had one such experience at this restaurant. The manager and people who prepare the food are busy at "Take-away" and not "Dine-in". You can simply put a note that "Dine-in" option is not available and people like us can avoid who expect better customer service.
As some other user mentioned, there are lot of flies which can be controlled and I personally able to observe the same.
We ordered for Veg steam Momo and Tukpa. The shop served the very hot "Tukpa" in a plastic container which is very much not a better practice. The Momo's are given in a paper box and we asked if there are no plates to serve but they really don't care about the dine-in people. Felt like as if we are eating at local tea shop.
Don't think the franchise owner really care about serving the people and instead it's one of the business to simply make some money. "Serving the people is an art and NOT everyone can master it". You need patience and listening ability and a heart to serve your own people.
Not many people get an opportunity to serve the people daily and people who face the customer in volume don't feel happy or enjoy the experience because we are very focused on generating revenue and make profit rather than meet people's need.
Now a days it's a trend to have a glamours interior, illusive lighting and mouth watering dishes framed on to the wall but at the end of the day it's how you prepare the dishes and how you serve the people with smile and happiness which is very much missing.
Let there be a change...

Veg classic fried peri peri momo - That peri-peri sauce hits high as soon as the first bite; ain't too oily, just GOOD
Fried chicken momo - Bite-sized pieces with soft meat; both the meat and the veggies gelled well to concat the perfect amalgamation
Corn & cheese pan fried momo - Same base as the other veg momo with different (corn & cheese) stuffing; plumpy with super hot sauce
Wow! Khao suey veg - Coconut based saucy noodles; very mild spiced with assorted veggies and greens to be mixed; Pour over the gravy on top of the noodles, mix well with the spices and greens; wait a minute and enjoy the slurpy noodles, THE BEST
Veggie moburg - Momo stuffed burger with oozing sauces all around; sloppy, juicy, ONE OF A KIND
Burnt chilli garlic chicken rice - Too spicy with strong garlic along every scoop; pieces could have been more succulent but with the sauce and rice, this was OKAY
Ambience/Price: When it comes to pricing, this place has been on the right side of the scale for a while now; they are affordable with their momos but for their other dishes, it seems a tad bit high. Their ambience isn't the best since it is crowded during the wee hours with minimal seating space. Waiting time is high with the service being OK. I'd rather prefer a takeaway for the same. Parking on the main road has never...
