A family-friendly restaurant with a variety of dishes
Himalaya Family Restaurant is a typical family restaurant that serves a local menu of biryanis and curries, as well as kababs and Chinese dishes. It is a very common and go-to eating out option for the people in the region, as it offers something for everyone's taste and preference.
The menu includes tandoori kababs, a kind of Indian BBQ, that is marinated and slow-cooked in a clay oven. They are tender and juicy, and come in different varieties, such as chicken, mutton, and fish. The biryanis are also delicious and aromatic, made with basmati rice and spices, and are prepared and served well. The restaurant also has several other vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries, such as mutton curry, fry and butter chicken, paneer butter masala, and dal fry. Most of them are worth a try, as they are good, and go well with rotis or rice.
The restaurant has a reputation for being family-friendly and many people come to this place with friends and family. The restaurant has a pleasant and spacious ambiance, with comfortable seating and lighting. The service is also courteous and prompt, and the staff is attentive and helpful. The restaurant also has a banquet and party hall that can accommodate 50-100 people, along with catering options for family get-togethers, functions, and parties. The prices are affordable and moderate, and the portions are generous and filling.
One of the dishes that I personally liked very much and have frequently for take away is the tangadi kabab, a chicken leg piece that is marinated and grilled. It is succulent and flavorful, and makes a great snack or appetizer. Another dish that is worth a try if you are having a small party is the Handi Biryani, a large pot of biryani that is served with raita and salad. It is enough to feed a groups of 15-20 people, and is a good value for money.
Overall, I would recommend Himalaya Family Restaurant to anyone looking for a family-friendly restaurant with a variety of dishes. The food is tasty and satisfying, the service is polite and efficient, and the ambiance is cozy and inviting. It is a great place to enjoy a meal with...

But we had a disastrous experience - Disappointing service to say the least, when everything with the order went wrong.
Ordered for the following - Lemon and coriander soup (veg) Paneer chilli (veg) Veg manchuria Dessert
What we got - Chicken soup (total blunder #1) Egg manchuria - when highlighted that egg instead of veg, then the waiter went back and got us a new item called veg burani (tried to serve us in the name of manchuria) - when highlighted again, the waiter was like this item doesn't exist on our menu and this is veg manchuria only. Asked him to get the menu, and showed him the item existed. Took tthe item to kitchen again, came back with veg burani item tossed in some sauce and brought back saying this is veg manchuria now. (For a fact - while they both look same. Both items - veg burani or manchuria - are very different) hope atleast restaurant menu creator know the difference while the restaurant might never get it or doesn't know already Final nail in the coffin - got the dessert before we got manchuria. And when asked can we get later, the waiter was like - you get it here when you ask for. Total negligence and poor accountability.
Only thing that we got right was - chilli paneer (that too with some confusion) and a water bottle
While this is one good restaurant in mahabubnagar - knows how to cook good food but doesn't know how to serve - totally left to negligent attitude. Hope they get their act right for the money customers pay.
For the price - it is an expensive place even compared to restaurants in Hyderabad. You can't but demand the service and quality in Mahabubnagar. Sorry to say this - this is not the restaurant worth your money but at the same time - no other restaurant in mbnr does cook well. And the management might just be flying on this situation. But not every day is the same - there must and will open up more restaurants. And I really.hope
Given the experience, please ensure you double check your items if you're asking for parcel of your food...
Read morechanging my review. You can check my last year review in images. I am uploading screenshot. Worst attitude. The hotel attitude, service, taste and hygiene has changed drastically since they are having a great business. Tables are sticky and curry stains on plates, spoons and table.
when asked for cold water the waiter says that sorry there is no cold water and we blindly trust him and open our water bottle which is normal temp. later on another table different waiter brings a chilled water bottle.
when ever you try to order something odd from the menu they make thier faces sad as if you have asked impossible things and instantly tries to deny that its not available.
I insisted that i wanted a chicken starters which was not the common one at around 4 pm when there was moderate rush. He kept arguing that dont order it. it will take 1 hour. i said i will wait. he now says it will take more than 1 hour. (biryani gets cooked in that time) when i said i will wait still. he went and came back later saying that the cook refuses to cook it as he is busy.
similarly always every visit is same like this in...
