I visited Sai Pooja Veg Restaurant and ordered their Paneer Fried Rice, expecting a proper Indo-Chinese dish with flavor, texture, and balance. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown.
The dish had only paneer and rice β no vegetables at all. While both the paneer and rice were cooked decently, the taste was completely flat. There was no flavor, no spice, and no sign of effort in seasoning or preparation. They simply added spring onion on top as garnish and called it a day.
This isnβt what Paneer Fried Rice is supposed to be. It felt lazy and incomplete. Totally disappointed.
Hereβs How Paneer Fried Rice Should Be Made:
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked rice (cold & fluffy)
200g paneer, cubed and lightly fried
1 onion, sliced
1 capsicum, sliced
1 carrot, julienned
2β3 garlic cloves, chopped
1β2 green chilies (optional)
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp chili sauce (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp oil
Spring onion or coriander for garnish
Instructions:
Fry the Paneer:
Heat oil and lightly fry paneer until golden. Set aside.
SautΓ© Veggies:
In the same pan, sautΓ© garlic and chilies.
Add onion, carrot, and capsicum. Stir-fry for 2β3 mins on high flame.
Add Rice & Sauces:
Add cooked rice, soy sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, salt, and pepper.
Mix gently.
Add Paneer:
Toss in fried paneer and cook for 1β2 mins.
Garnish & Serve:
Sprinkle spring onion or coriander and serve hot.
Hope this will help to improve your food quality

Β Β Β Read moreFirst one to review this here. A newly opened restaurant for pure vegetarians in Parsik Nagar. The ambience of the hotel is decent, with outdoor seating and ac dining options. I choose to order my morning breakfast from this hotel today but unfortunately their delivery service starts after 11am which is really sad. I ordered Pav Bhaji for lunch which arrived in 30 minutes. The delivery person seemed drunk to me as he smell of alcohol and he was not ready to give me the bill too. Not a good start for a new hotel I thought. The taste of Pav Bhaji was okay, the quantity and packaging was good but it could me better I feel. Since, I have not yet tried their other food options on the menu I wouldn't comment on the overall food quality. The ambience looks good for a family dining with some parking space available on the roadside. I would definitely dine in someday and will edit my review if needed.
*Update: I did dine here a few times and the experience was quite good. The taste of the food is better than the earlier now. Probably the management changed in between and hence the change in name too. Good food and...
