Zero stars. I was traveling (driving) back to Chennai post my vacation. Exhausted after 6 hrs of driving. We made the mistake of choosing this A2B because of its brand value. Boy were we wrong!!! Following are my observations. The place was overflowing with people and the restaurant management had no clue on handling the crowd. The parking was a mess because the parking assistants were all piled together. They were more interested in talking than actually organizing. It was the same chaos inside. No one to clean the tables, no one to seat the guests. It was a mess. We get a table and order fried rice. After taking an eternity, the meal arrives but without any sauce. We wait for another 10 mins for the sauce to arrive only to find out that it has gone bad. We call the server, he takes another 10 mins and without even saying sorry goes away. We eat the fried rice (dry without any sauce) and wait for another 10mins for the bill to arrive. We confront the server, he reply was, "the sauce has gone bad... So what do you want me to do" We pay the bill not wanting to waste anymore time.
If you are a weary highway traveller, you are better off driving hungry or eating at a smaller joint than this...

We visited the restaurant for lunch and had sambar rice, meals, and chapathi. The food was generally good, but we did notice that a few dishes were only available at early lunch hours. For example, the mini meals was not available when we visited at around 2pm.
The sambar rice was flavorful and the chapathi was soft and fluffy. However, we were a little disappointed with the variety rices. They tasted like they were prepared with ready-made powder, which gave them a slightly artificial flavor.
Overall, we had a good experience at Hotel Adyar Ananda Bhavan. The food was tasty and the service was friendly. We would recommend this restaurant for quality pure vegetarian options while traveling.

Read moreSorry to say it, but very disappointed by this A2B branch. Ordered Mushroom briyani and Mushroom noodles for lunch in this branch. Never expected such an taste from A2B, the mushrooms are raw in noodles and oily even that dish is manageable whereas Mushroom briyani not even to the mark. They just added mushroom and mint. Even the smell of raw chilli powder hasn't gone. You can't even say it as biriyani for namesake. When asked about the Same to manager, he said it is North Indian style, I have tasted North Indian dishes nothing seem to be this worse. I asked the manager why don't you say it when we are ordering. As an South Indian and visiting a South Indian restaurant I would expect it to be in south India style, even if it is different from regular dish they should let us know before delivering. Sinc e it is in highway and floating population is their major target, they are making use of the brand name and selling not tasteful food with higher price and people who looks for quality of food will be...
