I just visited the Adayar Anand Bhavan branch in Thiruvannamalai and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience that fell far below the standards one would expect from such a well-known establishment. • Food Quality: The food was not served hot, which significantly impacted the overall dining experience. One expects freshly prepared, warm meals at a reputed restaurant, but this was not the case here. • Service Standards: The service was extremely poor. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive throughout our visit. It took an unusually long time for anyone to even acknowledge our presence, and we had to repeatedly request someone to come over and take our order. The lack of professionalism and urgency from the team was quite frustrating. • Unreasonable Wait Time: After placing the order, we had to wait for over an hour to receive our food — with no updates or apologies from the staff. Such delays are unacceptable, especially when there were not many customers in the restaurant at the time.
Overall, I would not recommend this branch of Adayar Anand Bhavan to others. The management seriously needs to address the inefficiencies in both service and kitchen operations, and most importantly, focus on training staff to be more responsive, courteous, and customer-focused. Dining out should be a pleasant experience, but unfortunately, this visit was...

23 Jun’2024: There is a Standard response given to my earlier review which is not expected. Dear all Pilgrimages, This management has taken all visitors as Bhakaras. 🐐 Your waiter and the receptionist guy who register at entrance and your so called manager are all rude and misbehaved. We just came out as this is not our place and our purpose is pilgrimage and this the way management is exploiting devotees . Experience is pathetic and we will spread this word of mouth to all the people who believe and think Adyar Anand bhawan as a Good restaurant (The Worst Restaurant with bad staff & Poor Quality Food) For south India thaali: No curry given, No Chutney given, No curd given and Dal was tasteless. When you call waiter he said all items closed. Then why did you take order??? Service was very slow and after reminding and reminding they gave me Dal again. Taste was very normal. They treated us as if you guys giving free food. Understand, THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOUR OF STAFF AND MANAGEMENT, your business will get to ZERO VERY SOON. All Telugu speaking devotees who don’t know Tamil, never visit this place at all. You will be looted on both Quality & Rudeness...
Read moreThis restaurant is not exactly located in the heart of the city, but it's located in one of the important exits leading out of Tiruvannamalai.
Having said that, we visited the place twice within the same day, for breakfast and lunch. The lunch was surely the better of the two meals.
The breakfast was a so-so affair. At 09:30 in the morning, they didn't have Idiyappam. And some other tiffin items in the menu aren't available as well, with the server sheepishly saying that they're evening snacks items. And no, the timings were not marked in the Menu.
I had a couple of Idlis and a plain dosa, both were just about average, the idlis were hard to chew like rubber and dosa was also just about ok, nothing worth mentioning.
The lunch was good though, our driver had south meals and he complemented the availability of hot rice readily. The side dishes too were apparently good. We had a couple of chat items and a Gobi 65, it was good.
Their major problem is the availability of seating. It's quite busy there and they have a token system of calling people to be seated as and when seats become available. This was done only during lunch though, I hope they do it during breakfast as well.
And please improve the quality of food and the type of service too. You're doing well, but not well enough for the...
