After a long & tiring journey back from Dumboor Lake, Chabimura & Neermahal, I reached my room, took a bath & rested for a while. But soon I was feeling hungry. It was 9pm & I remembered @chak_shakya recommending me to try out the Chakma food at Mezang.

I reached Mezang at 9:10pm. This is a small little eatery. It had a nice signboard & an equally interesting menu. I came to try out the pork cooked inside bamboo & it also came in a Thali. So I ordered a thali.

15mins later my order arrived. It had rice, dal, a generous portion of bamboo pork cooked with Bamboo shoot, mix veg cooked with dried fish, Gudok (banana stem with dried fish), Raddish sabji, potato fry, papad & salad (they had ran out of boiled mustard greens).

The rice was slightly sticky & had a nice aroma to it & the first serving itself was huge. The pork with Bamboo shoot was cooked till the meat was very tender. The portions were huge. Not 2-3 pieces that one would expect; it had a dozen small pieces & pork in Agartala is 450/kg. It not only had quantity but also quality & taste & wasn't too spicy. The mix veg was tasty but I was surprised when I got a piece of dried fish in it. The clarification I got is that non tribals don't usually eat pork so they add dried fish to the mix veg. Now what if a vegetarian orders a veg thali? Food for thought? The Gudok was basically banana stem cooked with dried fish again. It was an acquired taste. The Raddish sabji though was very light & tasty.

Service was very quick & polite. I left satisfied.

The restaurant is located close to Rubber Board Complex, Chanmari. It is well connected to GB Bazar, ILS Hospital, Lichubagan and Nandabagar. It is hardly 1.5 Km from GB bazar and 1 Km from Nandanagar. It is neat and clean. The area is also calm and quite. For young couple I recommend to sit together and have some delicious food from here. The price is₹220 for 1 plate of deep fried pork in swiggy. I only got 6 pieces of it. Are they importing Columbian pork meat to fry? I will never buy from this restaurant again and tell the owner to do party with the profit. its More like a street side vendor. With god's grace, anyone can cook that.
