I recently visited Roni Punjabi Dhaba and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food quality is definitely good, and the flavors are satisfying. Among the items I tried, the Handi Chicken stood out. The taste was quite nice and the flavors blended well, but there is one thing I noticed – the dish is not actually cooked in a traditional handi. Instead, it seems to be prepared in a normal pan and then served in a dahi handi-style pot. While it tastes good, if the chicken was slow-cooked in a real handi, the flavor and aroma would have been even more authentic and much richer. This small change could really elevate the dish to another level. The service, however, is an area that can be improved. After placing an order, it often takes a long time for the food to be served. This delay can be frustrating, especially when you are hungry or in a hurry. Faster service and better coordination would make the experience much smoother for customers. The atmosphere is decent – simple, dhaba-style vibes with a casual setting. It is not very fancy, but it matches the traditional roadside dhaba charm. Overall, if you are looking for good Punjabi-style food with decent taste, Roni Punjabi Dhaba is worth trying. With a little improvement in cooking style (especially for dishes like Handi Chicken) and quicker service, this place can become a great choice for...

Review for Roni Punjabi Dhaba

Yesterday, six of us visited Roni Punjabi Dhaba, excited to enjoy a good meal. We ordered Punjabi Chur Chur Naan, Garlic Naan, Tandoori Roti, Chicken Bharta, and Chicken Handi.

However, our experience was ruined by the unprofessional behavior of one of the waiters. When we initially placed our order, he confidently told us, "Sir, piece diya hoito na, leg diya handi dite parum, late hoibo 30 min." We agreed and ordered accordingly. But when we confirmed the order later, he suddenly changed his statement, saying, "Akhon leg hoito na." When we pointed out his contradiction, he started arguing instead of handling the situation professionally.

The worst part was when we informed the reception. Instead of addressing the issue, the waiter accused us of lying. This level of arrogance and misbehavior is completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry.

To the management of Roni Punjabi Dhaba: While your food quality and quantity are good, customer service is equally important. If this is how your staff treats guests, we will seriously reconsider visiting again. Please train your staff on basic hospitality and respect because no one expects to be treated like this...

The place is very disturbing.. as an incident took place..thats ..as outsiders we were waiting fr our orders to get delivered..we were in our car.. but some drunk localites came and created a ruccuss abt parking the car..and had hit one our family members.. also abused the ladies with us..our wives and sister in law and their families.. even kids were there.. but no action by the hotel nor by the localites.. they damaged our car as well..later we came to know this has happened with many .. ridiculous experience.. and a not so safe area to visit ..as the locals are too cliche and mostly drunk or doped.... not an area to visit with family.. a hearty request to bring some chivalry in the heart of people.. at last we couldnt recve out order and had to go away..as the localites asked us to leave otherwise things can be adverse..was the statement by them.. worst experience .. never expected this as a tourist to tripura..

Location is somewhere far from the main road which you can't find out easily plus you can't reach there with public transport (but, as it is a dhaba it's location is perfect specially for the one who frequently travel with this bypass road). The dhaba is decorated with fabric swatches (which become dark and untidy with time). The sitting arrangement is dhaba style bed & may be only 1or 2 table with chairs. Price range of food was higher compared to the food quality. We ordered paneer pakoda. It was served quickly but the taste was not so impressive. The paneer cubes are coated with very/extremely thin batter & then deep fried, served with lot of tomato sauce only. Compared to the quality of paneer pakoda i think their price is very high. We paid Rs200/- only for 12 paneer cubes coated with thin batter. Management can be better. Food quality can be better. Dhaba's atmosphere & ambience can be better.

Many items were unavailable when we visited. Starters were not available except tandoori chicken. We ordered tandoori chicken, handi chicken, naan, laccha paratha, stuffed kulcha. Tandoori was a bit overcooked but overall good. Handi chicken was served in handi, but the taste was like chicken dopyaza rather than Handi Chicken. Laccha paratha was the worst, it was not even laccha paratha, they served normal tandoori roti even without butter instead of laccha paratha, I have never seen laccha or indeed any paratha like that. Stuffed kulcha was okay not that great. Naans were hard rather than soft. Overall food 3/5 Ambience 4/5 (At night insects were coming over the food due to the lights) Overall ambiance is good like typical dhabas. Location 3/5 (Not about the distance, but the bypass road is really bad, offers you an off-roading track)
