If you’re ever in Sadar Bazaar, Meerut, you’ll hear the hype about Bashir Hotel — the OG spot for no-frills Mughlai non-veg. Doors open at 10 AM, and the morning lineup is short but old-school: Nihari, Paya, Keema, Kaleji, and fluffy Khameeri rotis.
The real action kicks off around 6:30 PM when they fire up the charcoal for their famous buff seekh kebabs. They’re thin, smoky, and cooked right over live coals — priced at just ₹20, served with onions and a fiery chutney. Add ₹5 and you get a hot rumali roti on the side.
I tried the kebabs… and honestly? Not my fave. A bit too thin, missing that juicy bite. Tip: skip the chutney/onions, and just eat it straight off the skewer for max flavour.
The buff keema came next — tiny hand-cut meat chunks with potatoes in a spice mix. Sadly, the flavour was a bit shy for my taste buds.

As suggested by someone, I did try the Nihari here. It was just awesome. Full of flavours and meat would just break down as it should in Nihari.
