Gautam Buddha University, established by the Uttar Pradesh Act (9) of 2002, commenced its first academic session at its 511 acres lush green campus at Greater Noida in August 2008. The University is fully funded by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), the undertakings of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission under UGC Act and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities.

The academic programmes offered by the University are recognised by the University Grants Commission of India and various other Statutory Bodies, Councils, whichever are applicable in individual cases.

Recognition by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC): Gautam Buddha University is recognized by the University Grants Commission of India vide F.9-18/2009 (CRP-I) dated 13 May 2009 under section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956. Through this the University has been empowered to award degrees as specified by UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956 at its main campus with the approval of Statutory Councils, wherever required.

Recognition and Inclusion by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC) under section 12 B of the University Grants Commission, UGC ACT 1956. Recognised under UGC Section 12B and NAAC accredited with B+ Grade.

Association of Indian Universities Membership: The University has been granted membership of the Association of Indian Universities.

Approval by the Bar Council of India: The School of Law, Justice, & Governance administers a five years Integrated B.A. LLB programme. This Programme has been approved by the Bar Council of India.

Approval by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE): The Department of Education & Training, School of Humanities & Social Sciences offer Two-Year B.Ed. Programme recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Gautam Buddha University is a state university, located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh with 511 acres of campus area. The university is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been accredited by NAAC with B+ Grade. The University offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in the domains of Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Management, Computer Applications, Biotechnology, Buddhist studies, and so on.

Admission to the University is done either based on merit or entrance exams. Applicants have to appear for the entrance exams GPTU, GPT, and GPTR conducted by the University. The University also accepts admission through national level entrance tests like CAT, MAT, GMAT, CLAT, CMAT, XAT, SET, NET, JRF, etc.

The University provides experienced faculty members who have a bulk of knowledge because they are highly qualified. Most of them have a Ph.D. degree. They have good knowledge of their subjects, both practical and theoretical. Teachers are very helpful, and they are always available to help their students.

Gautam Buddha University Facilities:-

1). Library: The university has a Central Library with about 47200+ books and a seating capacity of about 2000 students at a time. The library is well-resourced with journals, magazines, ebooks, and books.

2). Recreational Activities: A swimming pool, gymnasium, and other activities are available for students. They have a separate gymnasium for boys and girls.

3). Wi-Fi campus: The entire campus of GBU is connected with a strong wifi network.

4). Central Computer Center: The university has well-equipped modernized computer labs with the latest technology and software.

5). Hostel: There are 18 hostels for boys and girls with proper hygiene and safety.

6). Sports: Students can play both indoor and outdoor games on the campus. They have a big playground for outdoor games. Lawn tennis courts, badminton courts, and volleyball courts are also available.

7). Auditorium and Conference Room: The university has 11 auditoriums with a capacity of 3000 students, out of which 9 are IT-enabled auditoriums. There are 16 conference rooms for organizing workshops, seminars, events, etc.
