The evergreen “Jain Shikanji” (the restaurant’s name is eponymous of this effervescent drink) never fails to revive the weary road-bound itinerant. This welcome bubbly goes best with a hot plate of pakoras, paneer being my favorite, although all other sorts they serve up are as good as they come.

Over the years, they have modernised, without comprising on quality; only getting better, if anything. Service is as snappy as your move from the order to the service counters – you may probably do a good imitation of the slow loris in locomotion, but that isn’t something you can stain the escutcheon of restaurant staff with.

Not having a panoply of serve-ups on the bill of fare is perhaps the best thing going for the place as you are spared a scratching head trying to figure out what you order quickly and that which is served equally quickly. Though some all-time favourite quickfire Indian fast food dishes also on offer are Chhole Bhature, Poori Sabzi, Rajma Chawal, Mutter Kulcha & Pav Bhaji for the more leisurely moving traveller.

With a thumbs up for good hygiene for both the food court and the washrooms, you’ve got to be in an incredible hurry to not set foot here or have other taste buds I haven’t come across.
