This is the place where you should always stop while travelling towards haridwar. Although this is famous for its jain Shikanji but at the same time you can enjoy other variety of food , be it Shikanji, north indian , south indian , indian breakfast or the chai. Best here is the crispy paneer pakoras which is served with green chutney. Remember not be to fall in trap of the outlets which have similar names as that of jain shikanji. This place is on the road highway and you don't have to make an effort searching it as the boards of the outlets starts appearing as early as 5 kms from the outlet. A pure vegetarian restaurant which can be a haven for a Hindu foodie. Car parking is available on jain shikanji on the outlet which is on the outskirts of the modi nagar city. You can find little difficult parking your vehicle if you stops at the outlet which is main bazaar. I personally prefer to stop at former. Good can also be packed from here, they also sell some masala which they say is a special one which makes their shikanji perfect. You can buy it from here and enjoy the taste of this famous shikanji anytime at your home. All in on its a awsome to be in with your family and friends to satisfy your hunger at cheap price. I hope you will like this place and will give a thumbs up...
Read moreThis place has got a lot of nostalgia attached for local Meerut people or those who have spent time in the city in the last few decades.
However, for some one who doesn't have a connect, it is difficult to fathom why it is so special.
Firstly it is located on the main road where the Delhi Meerut elevated rail corridor work is going on. So it's congested, dusty and outrightly with dirty surroundings. Just a few metres away, I could see tonnes of garbage. The area reeks of drainage smell. So it doesn't "look" very hygienic,
And it is a small outlet, Period.
But of course, the Shikanji in itself was very tasty. The aloo dish we ordered was good too. But again, with the potatoes being washed by the roadside, I doubt if it can pass muster easily for hygiene.
Prices are reasonable.
You must take it as a roadside stall. Very popular. And street food doesn't have to be analysed so minutely. So go ahead and enjoy the masala Shikanji , the most...
Read moreRecently on 29-10-2022, stopped at VINAYAK VANSH RESTAURANT, a frenchisee of famous Jain Shikanji situated at Faridabad Palwal Mathura Highway just a few kilometers from Palwal towards Mathura.
Ordered for 2 Tandoori Alu Paratha and 2 Tea. The paratha was made of Maida instead of Atta. It was tasteless as no salt was added to the filling of Alu in the Paratha. When pointed out to the waiter, he just shrugged off and did not bother at all and he did not convey this to his superiors or even to the faltering cook. The tea, though good, but was full of too much sugar. It was a very very bad experience.
My invoice no. was 10265 dated 29-10-2022 For Rs. 241-50.
I now understand that this trade mark is good only for Shikanji and Paneer Pakoda and not for other products offred by...
