Jain Shikanji from Modinagar has arrived in Meerut. However, there have been so many shops with the same name it is difficult to recognise which is original. As a food aficionado, who cares !! What we care about is how the food tastes and how hygienically it is made. We visited this particular shop in Sep 2021and bought Paneer pakoda, Mix pakoda , Shikanji and Tea. The paneer was amazingly soft and fresh which made paneer pakoda their speciality. Better if the use of oil could be a little conservative specially during the recent times when even the cooking oil prices are skyrocketing. Mix pakoda had mix of palak , gobhi, mirch , aloo and besan pakodas, the best being the gobhi pakoda. Shikanji was quite standard as could be found in other shops but tea was totally exquisite . My family members, who were eagerly waiting, took first bite and they found the pakodas were "FOUL SMELLING"..I asked them not to eat them anymore coz it could hv caused food poisoning if they continued. Everyone including me was very disappointed.Today I thought to visit them and at least make them realise about their fault. But out of my surprise, instead of saying sorry or accepting their mistake the counter guy replied "no, it can't happen". I got frustrated n said its upto u whether u admit it or not but it's tru and I left. After that I decided to write this review. How, i can eat so much in Rs.500 which owner was asking, i need just time to make reports and owner not allow me to sit there and asking Rs.500 per hour and saying you can not order sandwich and tea because there prices...
