I recently went to Meera’s Bistro Amoroso Café in Meerut, with my family, for a short stop while coming back to Delhi. While I’ve been here before (a couple of years ago), this time around the space was a bit different; in a good way! Most of the seating is outdoors, with greenery all around, which gives it a garden-like charm. They do have an indoor section too but the open seating was definitely the highlight, which we opted for. Very calm, very relaxed.
For the drinks, we started with a Hot Cappuccino. The taste was good, but it felt a bit too light for me in terms of caffeine strength. I usually like my cappuccinos a little stronger, so while this wasn’t bad, it didn’t hit the spot completely.
We ordered Garlic Bread, which on the menu was listed as “Garlic Bread with Cheese”. The portion size was nice, but it came without any cheese. When I asked the server about it, they casually said the cheese wasn’t available and didn’t bother informing us earlier. That was a bit disappointing. Taste-wise, it just felt like toasted bread with sharp, raw garlic on top, which was a bit too overpowering.
The Farmhouse Pizza was a mixed experience. I didn’t enjoy the base; as it was way too thin and crispy, almost like a cracker. But the toppings made up for it; the veggies were fresh, and I liked that the pizza wasn’t overloaded with cheese or sauce.
The French Fries were pretty standard, crispy and enjoyable, so no complaints there.
The service here was actually good. Everything came out quickly and the staff moved fast, even if they weren’t the best at communicating (still thinking about that garlic bread incident)
Overall, the ambience was the real winner here, with its calm, green, outdoor setup. The food had some hits and misses, but it wasn’t a bad...
Read moreWe had heard alot about this place and this time while on our way back we decided to enjoy our lunch at this beautiful place.
The decor and ambience is very cute, vibrant and pleasing to eyes and heart. Beginning from the cutlery to furniture, everything is haute and lovely.
We devoured non-veg tandoori platter, burger served with fries, masala papad, cold coffee and sangria.
The coffee was great. The sangria was again good but we would have preferred a wine glass for the same instead of a regular tall glass. It was kind of a mood kill. Nevertheless, the taste was decent in every sip. Coming to the food, papad was decent but nothing else seemed worth our time or money.
The burger, though fresh, lacked a certain zing and flavor to it. The fries served with it did not seem fresh and were quite hard to chew. The quantity of the platter was great but neither of the four items of the platter had any flavor. Both sort of chicken were over-cooked and difficult to chew. The mutton seekh though looked great but again was over cooked and had a pungent smell to it too. The fish was nicely cooked and looked great but again, it was lacking the flavor on the inside and seemed bland while chewing.
The place is great, have an amazing vibe, the look of the cafe is lovely, even the drinks are good but somehow they need to improve themselves on the food.
A special thanks to Mr Arjun Singh, who made sure we had a comfortable dining experience at the...
Read moreThe place scores well only for the ambience. If you've eaten good food across India then you know that this place is nowhere close, it's has a great decor, when check you see in a lot of hep Cafe's, we'd reserved a table telling them that it's a retirement party. They decorated the table but put balloons that said, it's a boy, it's a girl, I mean c'mon, don't put balloons if it's doesn't make sense. We ordered for mocktails, starters and soup. Our drinks came, which were good, soup was good too, veg salt and pepper was decent, chicken wings were okay. Our pizza came which was honestly flavourless and bad, no seasoning. We all took a slice each and nobody wanted another serving, I called the server and told him it's bad and ask your chef to taste it, he took it back and never returned. Meanwhile, after 45 minutes we were still waiting for Afghani Chicken which came in beautiful wagon and tasted nice. Greek salad was decent, noodles too. All in all the staff needs Training in service management and handling customers. The chef needs to put in more flavours. It is high on your pocket but one would not mind if it tastes well. We did not try Indian Main course , maybe it's good, but why would I go to a bistro and want to...
