Quick for all readers on how the owner of this place handles criticism. The owner of this café has a pattern of replying to critical reviews by accusing people of being drunk or referencing CCTV footage — as if every dissatisfied customer was secretly drinking whiskey and lying. It’s unprofessional and frankly quite childish.
This place is all hype and zero hospitality.
We were a group of nine — food took over 35 minutes, and when our starter finally arrived, only two plates were given. On asking for more, they gave us two more disposable plates. I told him we are nine of us, and it would be greatly appreciated if we could get more plates and one of the staff members — whose photo I’ve attached in this review — rudely snapped, “You’ve already been given two, what more do you want?” Completely disrespectful — especially towards elders.
When we asked about the delay, we were met with arrogance and excuses like “this is how it works in the mountains” and “we make everything fresh.” They seemed to expect us to silently wait forever — while holding our payment in advance, leaving us with no option but to sit at their mercy.
Midway through, we were told they wouldn’t be serving any more rotis. No apology, no explanation. Just a cold message passed through one of their helpers. It was obvious they were completely unprepared to handle the summer vacation rush and overwhelmed by the crowd — yet rather than manage things better, they took it out on paying customers.
I’ve also posted a photo of the blackboard near the entrance — a bizarre set of handwritten “rules” scrawled in chalk, including a warning that food will take time. The tone of it is so harsh, it feels like a red flag before you even sit down.
In contrast, a much smaller place — Stunning Hills at Asmad — managed to serve our large group with warmth, politeness, and fresh food within 15 minutes. No attitude, no lectures — just genuine service. That’s the kind of place people remember and recommend.
Bagheera Café may look fancy, but it runs on inflated reviews and a misplaced sense of importance. If you value respect and good service, this is...
Read moreChakrata — a hidden gem where nature thrives in its purest form. While exploring this offbeat destination, we visited the much-talked-about Bagheera Cafe. We had read and heard a lot about it, especially about the food — and it exceeded every expectation. Everything we tried was packed with flavor and made with care.
The food does take time to arrive, but there’s a good reason for that. Each dish is made fresh, and the team is mindful about not using the same utensils for vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Their attention to hygiene and quality is commendable — totally worth the wait.
But what truly made our visit special was meeting Rahul and Jyoti, the passionate co-owners of Bagheera Cafe. Hearing their story — how they're running the cafe with a deep respect for nature and animals — was inspiring. They’re not only serving great food but also making a difference: managing waste responsibly, protecting the environment, and providing shelter for animals, including cats and even a horse.
Their dedication and authenticity are contagious. After spending time with them, you can’t help but reflect on your own routine — especially if you're stuck in the usual 9-to-5 grind.
Rahul & Jyoti — honestly, we loved your passion even more than your food! :)
We’ll definitely be back to visit the animal shelter — and to finally get that pending picture with...
