On a rainy afternoon of July, me and my friend went to Sat Tal. Our driver suggested this place for authentic local lunch. We decided to try Kumaoni thal. Our decision proved absolutely right. This is like a complete meal, you get local millet rotis called Madwa rotis. They taste very much like Ragi rotis. Dry potato subzi, bhat ki churkani which is a local lentil preparation. Kumaoni raita is flavourful and so is bhang ki chutney. One should not get misled by the name bhang ki chutney. When we asked the attendant in the restaurant he instantly said, “nahi nahi yeh chadhnewali cheej nahi hai” This chutney is made of seeds which are similar to poppy seeds. This restaurant is first from the car parking area, and has good seating space on sofas and chairs.

We tried everything for which they were famous like kadi chawal, rajma chawal and kheer, other food were okay but the kheer was something we liked and ordered again.

It was on the way to sattal so, it was reachable without a detour and the owner & staff were quite friendly, prompt so the service experience was good.
