Terrible Service, Incompetent Management & Poor Hospitality
I visited Lama by Yeti at the Mall of Dehradun yesterday, and let me warn you not to trust the overly positive reviewsâthey are clearly misleading. Our experience was one of the worst in terms of service and hospitality.
The moment we sat down, it took 15 minutes just to get someone to bring regular water, despite us requesting it upon entry. The staff was inattentive, and only one waiter approached us in a rushed manner, barely giving us time to place our order.
We ordered Ema datshi and Thakali Thali. We specifically spoke to the manager, Mr. Mahendra, beforehand, requesting that he at least ensure a smooth experience. However, when the food arrived after a long wait, it was a huge disappointment. The Ema datshi was decent, but the Thakali Thali was completely subparâthe dal was too watery, and the paneer lacked any proper gravy, tasting watered down and bland.
To make matters worse, we asked for clean plates, but the staff took forever to comply. We ended up finishing our meal in the same thali, which is simply unacceptable for a restaurant that claims to offer quality service. Getting the bill was another ordeal, as we had to wait more than 10 minutes before the manager even acknowledged us.
The height of incompetence came when the manager, Mr. Mahendra, instead of taking responsibility for the terrible service, tried to offer us a complimentary dessert as compensation. This was not only inadequate but also disrespectful, as if a dessert could erase such a frustrating experience.
To top it all off, we witnessed another table of four cancel their order and leave due to similar issues. Whatâs even more shocking is that we had visited earlier on a weekday when they had only two staff members, yet the service was significantly better than what we experienced this time.
This visit proved that the management is completely incompetent, and the hospitality is non-existent. If youâre expecting even basic professionalism and customer care, look...

We ordered the Non-Veg Thakali and Lama Akhai Veg Thali. There was only one person serving the entire floor, the place was crowded and because of that the service was painfully slow. It took an unexpectedly long time for both thalis to arrive. The Veg Thali was decent, but the Non-Veg Thakali â where mutton was supposed to be the highlight â was disappointingly bland. In fact, âblandâ would be an understatement. To add to that, the Veg Thali didnât match the menu description â a paneer dish was served instead, even though paneer wasnât listed. By then, asking for a replacement would have meant waiting another 15 minutes. The ambience too didnât reflect a fine-dine experience. The black sofas were not very clean, the furniture looked ordinary, and the artificial plants hanging around gave a casual cafĂ© feel rather than a premium one. Overall, a disappointing experience â slow service, mismatched menu items, and average food. Perhaps thalis arenât their strong suit, as the place seemed busy with people ordering...
Read moreToday I went to visit Mall of Dehradun with my friend, then when we felt hungry, we went to this restaurant for lunch, whose name was - Lama by yeti the himalayan kitchen. The ambiance was quite nice, then a lady waiter attended us and gave us the menu. I ordered strawberry shake, coke and pasta arrabiata. The lady waiter who took my order probably made a mistake in taking the order. She ordered pasta alfredo sauce instead of pasta arrabiata sauce in the kitchen. After a long time a waiter came with my order of pasta. I saw that the pasta was made in alfredo sauce. I told the waiter that I had ordered pasta arrabiata sauce. The waiter took the alfredo sauce pasta back to the kitchen to change it, I thought that now the pasta will be made in arrabiata sauce again. But the pasta was not prepared in arrabiata sauce by the chef, rather that pasta was served to us with modifications in the mixed sauce by adding a little bit of arrabiata sauce to the alfredo sauce pasta. We were very hungry, so we had to eat that mixed sauce pasta. This is a very cheap act, customers should not be...
