It's a nice and serene place to have a cup of tea. They offer different types of tea and you may choose your cup according to your state of mind. Price is absolutely REASONABLE. You may go to the terrace for a better view and to take few snaps of the entire tea garden from there. They have few collectible items in their showcases for sale but all those items are available at lower price in many other markets. So, you may avoid them. The host is always in smile to welcome her guests. Car parking is free. They charge Rs. 5 to 10 for toilet - funny part is, they don't have anyone to collect that money - there is a box where you may deposit the money when you are done. I deducted 1 star as there is very little scope of exploring the tea garden which is the major attraction of Gopaldhara. Point to remember: If you want to enter the tea garden, you may go there in the evening. Before that, entry is absolutely restricted.

We stopped here on our way to Mirik lake during our trip to Darjeeling in the last week of February 2021. It is a small tea estate compared to the ones run by the big tea companies. We had been told by Make My Trip (our tour organizers) that entrance to all tea estates in Darjeeling was closed due to Covid. Hence we were puzzled when our driver stopped here and indicated that we could explore the place. Just inside the estate a group of boys who were lounging around told us that we would have to pay Rs 20 per person to go any further. Having paid up we were allowed to cross the barricade and go ahead. The estate is laid across rolling hills and we were able to explore it with a couple of spills. Regrettably the tea estate was also disfigured with rubbish thrown by the tourists. Tourists attired in colorful costumes/ baskets worn by tea estate workers were also seen taking photographs in the estate.

Gopaldhara Tea Garden, located at the Golphar Viewpoint in Darjeeling, is a picturesque spot offering stunning views, making it a popular choice for photography enthusiasts. The serene landscape and the backdrop of the tea garden provide a perfect setting for capturing beautiful moments. However, access to the actual tea garden is restricted, which can be disappointing for visitors who wish to explore the area more closely. The viewpoint itself is still worth visiting, and there are a few tea shops nearby where visitors can purchase local tea. While the quality is good, the prices are slightly on the higher side compared to other places. In summary, it's a lovely spot for photography, but if you're hoping for a full garden experience, it might fall short.

Lovely location, quaint little homestay. Hosts are very kind hearted and jovial people. Neat and tidy minimalistic restaurant, and food cooked by a mother, served with love. Eat all you want - although the first serving was so filling I had to crash right after my lunch. Bedrooms are spacious, equipped and warm. Golpahar Viewpoint homestay turned out to be much more than I expected. I was headed elsewhere but needed a place to stay since i couldn't proceed into the hills due to excessive snowfall. And I am glad my driver Anup Burman suggested me this place. I must have had 30 cups of black tea in a day. Snacks are also served - try the momos for sure!

Definitely a picturistic tea garden. I didn't know it was called golpahar view point. The name of this Tea gardens are "Thurbo". On moving forward, you'll reach a higher point and it's the only point for capturing nice pictures. Unfortunately the gardens aren't maintained well as people loiter their stuff around. Hence making it dirty. There's no entrance ticket for the gardens. I hope they show the process of tea making and the different types of tree leaves grown atleast in the future for upcoming tourists and make loitering a strict offence.
