Motorist Inn Motel — Restaurant in West Bengal

Very rude chauvinist owner. Poor boose . They dont know how to make cocktails , food is good but the way owner behaves will spoil the mood.

Recent update 8.10.25 Went there for a quick meal as I was driving towards coochbehar. Ordered rice, dal ,aluvaja and katla fish. Everything was ok untill we tried the kalta. It was pre cooked and smelt like a day old broth which was reheated, even the potato in gravy was smelling. Told the service to enquire why such quality fish and gravy was served. He came back and informed us about it being fresh from oven and fish is from the freezer. We were not satisfied and decided to nudge the owener about the same. After all we couldn't eat a single portion of the fish. Not surprisingly he called the boy to get the plate and tasted the food and denied that it was not ok, but doing to accidentally he accepted the broth to be atleast day old and that's was the custom of his hotel, he mentioned. We laughed and left the place. Nothing more to say understood that small eateries which are trying hard to a brand can do anything to save their bill and can slaughter customer for their very needs. Quality control has gone in vague. Decided to never stop at motorist in ever, there are many new hotels came up recently, may be less flashy but hoping not to get cheated for a pre cooked...

stopped here for lunch on our way to Bhutan from Bagdogra. Apparently most of the tourists vehicles who pick up from Airport stop here for lunch. This is motel is around 1 - 1.5 hr drive from Bagdogra Airport. They serve both Veg and non veg here, non veg is dominant in menu. There is a bar inside serving drinks and cocktails. Besides pizza, bakery items, ice cream for desert available. There is outside sitting in huts for family, groups in various numbers. Huts available with different seatings, from 2 seaters to multiple seatings . There is green lawn and banquet halls. One AC hall is there, it was cool. However we preferred outside seatings . The food taste is average and sevice is just average. Roti was good, fresh, and crispy. Fresh lime soda was awful. Price is overall ok, but portion of curry, is less compared to the price. Cleanliness is good, but lots of scope for improvement. Parking facility is spacious enough and I rate very good. Toilet is ok and again scope for improvement. Landscaping design is good , but lacks maintenance. Fish pond exists, but , may be water shortage due to summer, now non functioning. There is a separate place for drivers for dining, which is appreciated. Now it is tourist season, motel was almost full.
