The person single handedly manning the counter was a good person. I asked for no mayonnaise and he complied with generous dollops of hummus for my wrap. The only problem is his one hand was always occupied by a phone. He was constantly talking to someone during his work and for that reason he paid very less attention to the customers.
Now to come to the Food. It’s horrendous to say the least. Everything is at least a day or two old. Nothing is fresh. Everything is stored in the refrigerator and every dollop of hummus or rice or even falafel mix is taken out of the refrigerator and reheated in plastic boxes using the microwave. If you look at the inside of the microwave or the fryer basket, I am sure you would never eat anything coming out of that.
And the ambience, well, is there any? The people just smoke and scatter trash everywhere. They also have a rooftop, but the climb is scary with steps missing and spider cobwebs reminding you at every step that no one really goes there.
I managed to get a look at the ingredients used and the shining one was the use of refined, olive pomace oil. It’s made using hexane, which is carcinogenic to the humans. This raises a serious concern as to what Indians are eating everyday. There is no hunger like back in the post Independence or British era but what about nutrition and hygiene? The prices are not cheap either but even after commanding a premium the quality and service is sub par. When will India and her people rise against this injustice and unite to revolt.
