Sher Bangla Restaurant in Kolaghat is a well-known stop for travelers on NH-16, offering a delightful mix of Bengali and Mughlai cuisine. During my recent visit, I was quite impressed with the overall experience, though there were a few areas for improvement.

The ambiance of the restaurant is simple yet welcoming, with a spacious seating arrangement that ensures comfort. The decor is not extravagant, but it maintains a traditional touch, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. Cleanliness and hygiene are well-maintained, which is always a plus for highway eateries.

Coming to the food, the highlight was definitely the authentic Bengali flavors. I tried their Chicken Kosha and Mutton Biryani, both of which were cooked to perfection. The Chicken Kosha had a rich, well-balanced gravy with just the right amount of spice, while the Mutton Biryani was fragrant and flavorful, with tender, juicy meat. The Luchi and Cholar Dal combo was also excellent, with the dal having a subtle sweetness that paired well with the crispy luchis.

Service was prompt and courteous, with the staff ensuring a comfortable experience. However, during peak hours, there was a bit of a wait for orders, which could be managed better. Pricing is reasonable, making it a good value-for-money option for travelers and food lovers alike.

The only downside was the limited availability of certain dishes mentioned on the menu. It would be great if they could maintain a more consistent stock.

Overall, Sher Bangla is a fantastic spot for a satisfying meal on the highway. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy authentic Bengali cuisine with good service and a decent ambiance, it’s definitely...

Well Sher E Punjab is for rich people. If you've big car, patience to stay in queue for hours, need to post pictures on social media to maintain your status then you can go for Sher E Punjab, pay more and expect very average quality food.

Rest of the people can go to Dhaba like Sher Bengal. Although not very big but they're enough space, big menu and serves overall good food for the price.

We tried below items: Butter Naan @ Rs.85 (4.5/5) Mutton Kasha Rs.300 (3/5) Chicken Butter Masala @ Rs.275 (4/5)

Their butter naan was one of the biggest I've ever seen at any Dhaba and it tasted amazing. Totally justifies the price. Chicken Butter Masala was sweet and went well with the Naan. Mutton was kind of average.

My friends took plain Bengali Rice Thali with Aloo Bhaja, Dal, Rui Fish and Mutton Kasha. Fish was fresh and overall thali tasted ordinary.

Pricing here is not very cheap but way cheaper than Sher E Punjab. This place might not be very popular but for food quality, good service and justified pricing this place deserves a...

Lot of parking space. This restaurant situated both side of the road so you need not to cross the road or not to take U turn. Food is awesome. Very prompt delivery. Must recommend place for someone who is looking for breakfast or lunch while on the way. Ac & non-ac space available to sit and childs play area is also there. Bathrooms are not very clean and need more maintenance and staffs need to clean them in every hour; management needs to pay attention on this area. Otherwise all good. Revisited 7-Apr-2023 - too much crowded due to good friday long weekend. Parked the car in road. Waited 30+ mins to have a person to order the food and then again waited for 15 mins to get the order. Bought a water bottle of 1 lts cost Rs 60 (surprised... Some unknown brand 🤔). Ordered Masala Dhosa, Food quality was good. Will be hesitant to visit Shere Bengal in any long weekend.
