Ambience & Location Sher E Bengal has a pleasant, comfortable interior. The setting is fairly modern and welcoming, especially good for casual meals or outings with friends. It’s conveniently located near the bank and the railway gate, making it accessible and easy to find. Ample parking is a plus, and the space feels tidy and decently maintained.
Food & Taste
The menu is fairly diverse: biryani, fried chicken, fish fry, sizzlers, etc.
On good days, the biryani is flavorful with decent aroma; the non-veg items have effort put in. Portions are moderate, neither too small nor extravagantly large.
However, there is inconsistency. Some reviewers mention that biryani on certain days lacks freshness (rice less fluffy, meat not quite up to mark) and taste varies.
Service Service is generally friendly and welcoming. Staff are polite and the restaurant tries to maintain professionalism in order taking and delivery. On the flip side, during busy hours, there is a noticeable delay in service and food delivery. Some reviewers complained that delivery orders arrived cold or late.
Price / Value for Money
Price per person falls in the ₹200–₹400 range, which is reasonable for this sort of establishment in Tarakeswar.
Considering ambience, service, and variety, many customers feel they get fair value. For those picky about perfect biryani or meat quality, sometimes it feels slightly above...
Read moreSher E Bengal used to be one of our favorite restaurants in our hometown, known for its good quality food. We have had many great experiences here in the past. However, during our recent visit, we were quite disappointed.
We ordered a chicken dish, but unfortunately, the chicken did not seem fresh and was very hard to chew. The overall quality of the food has clearly declined, which was disheartening given our past experiences.
We sincerely request the management to maintain the previous quality standards. As the restaurant is located slightly off the main road, people make a conscious effort to visit. If the food quality continues to fall, customers may start avoiding the place altogether.
Additionally, we noticed that packaged water bottles are being served without asking the customers. It would be more courteous to ask whether the guest prefers normal water or bottled water before serving.
We hope the management takes this feedback constructively and brings back the quality that once made Sher E Bengal a trusted name...
Read moreTaste of the food is decently good. If i have to say as per the price it's ok but the customer service was awful. Our table's were wonky and shaky, not to mention in the entire duration we weren't offered any water. The waiters wore unprofessional/common dresses which didn't suit the environment of a restuarant. If anything, i would recommended them improving their customer service and hire...
