After my evening visit to Family deity temple, thought of tasting our traditional snacks (Paniyaram/Sundal) hence took a break @ Aaladipattiyan Halwa kadai & Karupatti Coffee - Ambattur, Chennai. But instead of snacks, for a change I tried the Tiffin items which was made-up of Millets. In Aaladipattiyan, guess on a daily basis they are making tiffin items with one sort of millet and during my visit it was “Mappillai samba millet”. We tried different Dosa’s with panner and mushroom masala and idli. Also, it’s getting served with 3 types of Chutney (Coconut, Mint leaves, Onion and tomato smash) + Sambar + Wheat Alwa. Taste was good. Final touch was Karupatti Coffee.
Pros: • Best snack/tiffin items @ affordable price • Maintained neatly with staff cleaning the tables every time after each customer visit • Ample space for parking both 2/4 wheeler • Excellent spot location @ Ambattur (Opp to Dunlop Play ground)
Cons: • In billing section, the biller was not active and cross checking with the respective counter whether the snack/tiffin/juice item is available or not. This should not happen for every item while placing the order. Also, it will not help when you have more customer waiting in the queue for billing. (This instance happened for my case, not sure...
Read moreRecently we are visited in this branch today 10.45 pm .seriously it's very worst behaviour and service by the staffs( Billing staff and snacks providing staff) Very disappointing experience at this coffee shop. The food was served cold, which completely ruined the taste and quality of the meal. I expected at least basic standards when it comes to serving food hot and fresh, but unfortunately, that was not the case here. On top of that, the staff were extremely unprofessional and lacked basic courtesy. They were not attentive to customer needs, and when we raised concerns about the food, their response was careless and disrespectful. It’s honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a coffee shop. I believe customer satisfaction should be a priority, but sadly, this place does not value that at all. Would definitely not recommend this to anyone looking for good service and quality food.I ordered corn, but it was served cold. When I asked the staff to please heat the food, they simply said the heater is not working. If the machine is not working, why is it even placed in the shop? This shows their poor management and carelessness.Indirectly, they were trying to say the shop is closed, just to avoid doing their job.Dont cheat...
Read moreThe karupatti Kaapi is something you might want to taste. The taste is unique when compared to the ones you may get from white sugar or a brown sugar kaapis. It reminded me of the kaapis which were made in my Grandma’s home few years back.
While the kaapi is great, the shop is unable to handle the crowd. This shop brings in huge crowd in the morning and the evening. The kaapi masters are way too lethargic and rude in making kaapis. With 10 people standing for kaapis, it takes close to 15 mins to deliver one cup of kaapi. The guy who stood for a kaapi next to me also echoed the same thought. I got frustrated and had to ask for a refund.
If you have ample time and are here to just have kaapi and snacks and relax in the evening standing infront of the kiosk asking for kaapis to be delivered for 10 mins amongst the crowd(writing this review while we were still in covid pandemic), this is the place for you. If you think, you want to have a quick sip of coffee in the evening, please look somewhere else.
3 stars for the kaapi. 2 stars less for the attitude of...
