We used to come to this place often. Almost every week. The restaurant has several in land buildings, and some floating buildings and outdoor seating.
Very awesome place, especially if you want to have your food on top of a volcano lake. You cant really find a lot of places in Bali or on Earth quiet like this.
It surrounded by the walls of the big Mount Batur Caldera. You are basically in the belly of Mount Batur Itself.
The restaurant serves fresh water fish from the lake. The fishes are either deep fried and stewed with herbs and other ingredients. The also have other side dishes and vegetables and juices. You must try their spicy sauce though, they have 3 different sauces, red chilli sauce, green chilli and chopped coconut sauce and their sambal matah.
Fish dishes usually orderer by the kilogram. Last time I was there it was 98k rupiah or usd 7.50. Or you can buy half a kilogram minimum for kids menu. You must try this signature fish dish called Ikan Nyatnyat as this their specialty.
It used to be a lot cheaper than this. But I think it is OK considering you want to enjoy the view + eat great food.
Anyway, last time I was there, the floating building was devastated by strong wind. Their floating building was gone, and bridge to the building was gone as well.
This place is a must go restaurant if you are around...

They‘re very generous with the rice portion, so one portion might be enough for two people.
The sambal were very tasty, but if you have a sensitive stomach or not used to the capsaicin, it’s probably better to skip it. I recommend the grilled fish (ikan bakar). 1 Kg of grilled fish is enough to feed 5 people. For the veggies, I would recommend cah kangkung and tempeh goreng. This combination is great and the locals often eat this way as well. The location is beautiful and you can either enjoy your meal on lesehan (the seating without chair and low dining table, like the locals) or on the normal dining table with chairs.
There’s also a wide variety of fruit juices, such as Markisa Juice, Pineapple, Melons, etc. And of course, they also serve a big glass of hot tea / hot orange.
Lastly, I’d give 5 stars, but the toilet is not so clean and very smelly. There’s the sitting toilet, but I couldn‘t dare myself to sit on it, and therefore i gave this restaurant...
Read more1st of all, it's an amazing place to visit for the views. Ample parking space and quite easy access to this place. The weather is breezy despite the direct sunlight, you will get amazing photos here with lake and mount batur view. If you came here for food , it's worth going for mujair nyat nyat. The fish are fresh and the aroma melted into the fish is amazing. However, be prepared to up your martial skill and amazing hand movements. You'll be busy fighting off plenty of flies as soon as the food arrives. For me this was quite disappointing, I couldn't enjoy the food quite like I wanted it despite the amazing view. The cleanliness of this place needs to be addressed, it's simply too much to handle just for a meal. I'm honestly surprised at the amount of flies here compared to eating by the beach with less cleanliness. Honestly this would've been an amazing experience if it weren't for the flies. I hope this...
