Gidiyon home cooking — Restaurant in Bali

Last year, when I was in the area, I found Gidiyon Home Cooking from Google Maps search, the menu looked appetizing but I failed to find the restaurant at that time, so I saved it on Google Maps but never looked again 😅

Today, it showed up on my search for good Taco on GoFood, plus it has discounted delivery fee, so I thought why not trying it now? But I wanted Fish Taco but with Sambal Matah, something that it's not on their menu, so I called first if that can be arranged and the service was incredible! They said they can do that.. I was like wow!! They're willing to cater their customer's need! 👌😍

The Ocean Fish Taco with Sambal Matah (I requested without red cabbage & avocado) was delicious! Just as I wanted! 😋 The Hot & Sour Fish Soup was yummy too! (Although it's still not as very spicy as I wanted to, but yumm!) 👌😋

Next time I'll come visit and eat at the restaurant to try...

Sorry to say that some of the foods didn't meet my expectation. Firstly, I found a little dishwasher scrub in my butter chicken, I don't mind that but after I tasted it, it was very salty, lack of spices and not buttery at all. In the end I left the curry unfinished. Secondly, the Malaysia laksa isn't like what I having in most Malaysian restaurant, I don't like it when a laksa dish mixed with green veggie, it will ruin the taste of original laksa and became instant noodles taste. I also ordered fried ribs and dadar gulung, they tasted nice, good job! Overall experience was okay but there were mistakes, that night the original chef wasn't in charge of cooking the foods, maybe that's the reason. I probably won't come again unless there's changes. This review isn't intended to bring down reputation but merely a feedback for the owner to improve...

Amazing, amazing, amazing! I’ve lived in Bali for 9 months, tried hundreds of different dishes, and I can say that this place deserves a spot in the top 3. It’s a complete surprise, whether you order kebabs, Thai food, or local cuisine – everything is authentic and incredibly delicious. A gem of a local fine dining restaurant.

P.S. If you look at the rating and wonder why it’s 4.6 stars, it’s because all the 1-star reviews are from local Grab and Gojek drivers. Their experience with this restaurant is close to zero. Their reviews stem from having to wait for food for more than 5 minutes.
