Mae Warung The Little tacoz Cafe — Restaurant in Bali

Five stars from us. This is a lovely family run warung set in a garden. Mae is a fabulous host and excellent cook. We began with cold beer and complimentary piping hot roasted peanuts with the acclaimed local salt. We had sustainable spear-caught grilled fish with a delicious and pungent Balinese sauce, tasty pork belly, excellent vegetables, rice and lots more cold beer. The tables are set in a garden with a fish pond surrounded by banana trees. Curious chickens, ducks and pigs wandered about. Mae chatted to us and we had a lovely time discussing (as we are British) the gossip about our Royal family of which Mae knew more than us. As we liked the salt so much Mae kindly took me, the next day, to the salt shop up the road. I bought the specialty pyramid crystal salt for which this area is famous. The best taste is Grilled BBQ Chicken + honey fresh chicken and delicious flavour, ayam geprek wasn't fresh the chicken was so hard to chew. I am an ayam geprek lover! as Malang is the place for those famous ayam geprek ambassador. I have very high expectation about the real ayam geprek. I am an ice jeruk lover But when u put extra another things (pandan taste) instead of original sugar, it bothered the original taste of the fresh ice jeruk. It felt like drink ice pandan NOT ice jeruk cz too strong taste of pandan. It made the ice jeruk heavy taste and not fresh taste to drink. Please reconsider again. We came here expecting a proper traditionsl home cooked meal and we were not disappointed. The food cooked by Putu in her own kitchen is restaurant quality, fresh and delicious. Please try the grilled/barbecued pork, the nasi or mie goreng and the accompanying fresh sambal which is to die for. Many other things on the menu we could not try but looked appetizing as well.
