There are reviews that I write and throughout my writing I have a dilemma whether I am being too nice. And there are reviews like this where I am afraid that the readers might think I was paid for such a review. But the truth is that I always strive to write as honestly as possible. So will this review be and I am glad to be able to write such a feedback.
While driving to picturesque rice terraces we felt hungry but didn't have a clue where to dine. Thanks to google maps by coincidence I found this place exactly when we were passing nearby.
The restaurant is surrounded by fields of flowers, palm trees, rice terraces and vegetable gardens. Once you take the last corner on your path you notice the beautiful architecture of its building. I can't judge whether it is a typical balinese style but the fact is it is standing out.
The staff welcomed us already by the entrance and very soon we felt at home. The natural and uncomplicated atmosphere, the calm and professional service of the staff gave me a feeling of having reached the destination. We immediately started relaxing before I started taking lots of pictures of this unique location.
The first thing I'd like to point out, and I mentioned this in a few reviews already, the washrooms are the business card of a restaurant. I have been to many places in many countries but I have never come across a sanitary box in a washroom.
What a mindful thought of this place, to offer such a service for ladies. Awesome guys!!! The cleanliness of the washrooms, the pleasant fragrance... literally gave me the feeling of being in a five star hotel.
The food...oh my god. I don't know how the guys in the kitchen cook but they own the job. Imagine, a chicken tikka, tastier than in any Indian restaurant I ever had in Dubai. It was made in such a special way, if I dared I would have asked for a few more skewers.
The delicious food made me crave for even more food hence I ordered a Rajasthani Chicken Curry. What a flavour festival it triggered in my mouth, I can't describe it. A red rice I never had before, fluffy and tasty along with a papadum. And then I also had a Mung Dal Tadka, which I did not remember having ordered but I guess the lady read my mind as I was craving for this dish too.
My drink, the passion fruit lemon combination was the crown of my orders. I am thankful to the staff for having given us such a culinary experience.
My family had corn fritters, an omelette and garlic bread and on top a plate of churros and everyone was beyond happy.
My humble advice to whoever is in charge, please do not stand still, always strive to be different from the mainstream restaurants, because from what I can judge, this is what you are already and you stand out. With every detail of your food oasis you are different! My compliments to you and...
Read moreThis place is a piece of heaven! Not only the location and views are breathtaking - the food (and drinks!) are also out of this world! We loved everything we tried! As vegans we had many options to choose from as most of their menu actually is vegan already. They get most of their ingredients from farms in the area and try to avoid importing wherever possible. As we stayed in their Nature Resort, we got to try a couple of different dishes. The Chocolate Tart for example is not only beautiful to look at but also super delicious. Not too rich/heavy, but very satisfying at the same time. Goes perfectly well with a delicious coffee (oat milk is available of course) or their amazing Chai (you might also meet the other Chai, which is their super cute puppy). For breakfast we had to try their Guiltless French Toast (yes, it's vegan!) and it even exceeded our high expectations. We would almost drive all the way from Ubud just to have it for breakfast again! But also the savory food was super delicious and well balanced in taste. Whatever you order, you will notice the thought, skill, and love that goes into each and every dish. Make sure to try Dadi's Potatoes - no matter what else you order. They are soooo good. Spicy, but not too spicy, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, just perfect! The staff is super lovely and the owners very hospitable. They went out of their way and even showed us how their signature Chai is prepared. We cannot wait to...
Read moreWe were so lucky to find and get to Nadi because it was a pretty nice experience. We had an amazing day in Ubud and the area near Ubud, then we went on the route to our hotel and we wanted to get a nice dinner. We have found Nadi on the maps with a good rating, so, decided to try it out. On the way, the maps took us through a very bad off-road and when we went out, we were about to go to our hotel, however, I had just recognized a plate with the name of the Cafe, so, went straight to that way. Then, we were welcomed very kindly, and out of curiosity, I started a conversation with a person at the table next to us and we found out that this person was the owner. We had a nice conversation and also mentioned that we were on a honeymoon and they even made us complimentary dessert. The food was amazing there - my wife ate a Chicken Crispy burger which was super nice, with pretty dang good homemade ketchup, and I ate Rajasthani Chicken Curry. If you don't eat spicy, then the Rajasthani is not for you, but if you like even medium spicy, it is very delicious! The best thing is that they make everything homemade, even the chocolate for the Chocolate tart - I recommend this dessert to everyone who visits Nadi's Cafe 😋
So, let's conclude because it was quite a long review. Actually, my longest one, haha. I can give 6 out of 5 for the rating because we had an amazing experience there, the owners and the staff are very kind, and the...
