Nalika Beach Restaurant — Restaurant in Bali

We went to Nalika Beach Restaurant for lunch because our villa was within walking distance, and we had seen photos of the meals on Google Maps. The place is charming and located by the sea with a stunning view. The service is excellent: polite, courteous, and efficient. However, there was a major disappointment as no fish was available, which significantly limited the choices since the menu is already limited. The food was well-presented, but a few of the six dishes lacked flavor. The lava cake with their homemade ice cream, however, was exceptional. Also, be prepared to deal with dogs that roam from table to table hoping for leftovers. The dogs are docile, friendly, and super cute, but they are still dogs that lives outside all year long. It's really unnecessary to have them under the table and next to our chairs during the meal. Finally, this restaurant is "more expensive" than average, so we expected to have access to all the dishes and not have stray dogs underfoot (though it's all relative since nothing is expensive in Bali compared to North America). Great location at the beach. We had a beach side table with a full view of the sea and the sound of the waves as a background noise. They offer a pick up and dropp off service for guests of all the villas in the area, really nice service! Free of charge. There was a wide choice of foods varying from Indonesian dishes to burgers and pasta and pizza. We went for the Indonesian dishes. The 2 sate starters were great. The beef rendang was perfect on flavour and the meat was really nice although it was not typical rendang meat. Rendang meat needs to melt on your tongue. They also had a special tuna sambal dish which was excellent. Do indicate if you can not handle spicy. Their beef burger was perfect. Portions are good size. As desserts we tried the spring rolls, the lava cake and banana fritters. We loved all 3 of them. Each dessert is accompanied by a scoop of ice cream which tasted really well. Each time it was fantastic

I had the fresh caught fish (Mahi Mahi) from the local fishermen the night before grilled to perfection. The best restaurant fish I have ever had.

Kids loved the food options both Indonesian and western options
