Saras Restaurant — Restaurant in Bali

Ever hike 3 miles, hungry as a dog, then eat at a restaurant only to be disappointed? Ya me neither, but there is a first time for everything. Incredibly poor food/quality to rating ratio here. The meal took over 30 minutes just to prepare and was worse than every single other prior restaurant in Bali we had. The “popular” chicken dish? Only scraps of meat. The steamed carp? Tasted like the fish ate dirt it’s entire life. The worst part and the only reason I’m writing this review is due to the service. So un-Bali like. Extraordinarily rude attitude, they charged our bill wrong 3 times!! I’m serious, 3 times they came back with the wrong amount and I had to run the math for our receipt myself. The restaurant has a beautiful view over the mountains. But I really wouldn’t recommend eating here. I ordered a cappuccino, which came in a dirty cup, not even stirred around, and had clumps of powder in it because it apparently was a powder coffee. The waiter came with our 1,5 liter water bottle and forgot to give us a glass, said he would get them, but we never got those. I specifically ordered a chocolate pancake without cheese (and he repeated) without cheese. Then it came with cheese. I got a new one without cheese, with my knife splattered in the chocolate. We both got some ‘chicken fried rice’, and the chicken had bones and cartilage in it. At last i asked for sugar three times over the course of 15 minutes, but never got...

There is nothing about this place that I can recommend. When we wanted to order, I had to get up and walk around to find someone to take my order. The waiters cannot understand ANY English, which made it impossible to communicate.

We tried to order by pointing at the item on the menu, but gave up as the first 3 things we wanted to order was out of stock.

There was a buffet (which did not look great) but we were not allowed to eat from it (seems like it was reserved for a tourgroup)
