It's quite refreshing when you know that your local restaurant used to host traditional meals to a former president of another country, right? In fact, it may look like your average local eatery with nasi goreng (fried rice) and mie goreng (fried noodle) as two of the most common local delicacies served, but Bumi Langit Institute is anything but.!
The location of the restaurant itself is quite secluded and it can be easily missed, so you have to keep a watchful eye for the sign as you are driving. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staffs and an incredible aroma of fried chicken and rice mixed with herbs and spices, teasing our senses of smell and making our stomach growled even louder.
We ordered fried rice with shredded local chicken, fried rice with petai and salty fish, fried banana and fried tofu and tempeh. As it turned out, the chicken was crisp and very flavorful and the chili sambal was very rich. Everything was cooked into an almost perfection.
Don't let the location fools you, the food is fantastic. This place is perfect...

They also host workshops like permaculture, making kombucha, and dialogues with the owner which you can check out in their instagram page.
🍽️ Spagetthi bolognaise, the noodle is made from cassava and have a chewy but soft texture. It surprisingly goes very well with the bolognaise sauce! The parmesan cheese used was also good quality. Definitely a whole new experience of eating spagetthi.

🍽️ Kombucha. We ordered Bunga Telang and Rosella kombucha, both of which is refreshing...
Read moreI had a wonderful breakfast experience here! First of all, the place was very cozy and tranquil. The staffs were friendly and (somehow) cheerful too. I had a tasty Nasi Campur and fresh kombucha to die for, the fried banana was delicious too with quite affordable prices. Most menu I remember were Indonesian dish and all are organic. There were some traditional snacks too and free mineral water. Not only for eating, you can also take a look at the permaculture site and the farm. They got solar panels installed everywhere, which is impressive. The site were very wide and variants of plants grew so well. It was amazing to have a short tour around the garden and end it at the small mosque on top to pray. I definitely will come back...
