Sate Pak Pong 2 is a must-visit culinary gem for anyone who loves authentic Indonesian goat satay. Located in a modest yet comfortable setting, this place serves some of the best kambing (goat) dishes Iâve ever had. The satay is grilled to perfectionâtender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Each skewer is generously portioned, and the seasoning is spot-on, bringing out the natural richness of the goat meat without being too gamey. What truly sets Sate Pak Pong 2 apart is not just the satay itself, but also the wide variety of menu options available. From tongseng, gulai, and tengkleng, to classic kambing goreng, the variety ensures that everyone will find something to enjoy, even if theyâre not the biggest satay fan.
One unexpected highlight for me was the white riceâitâs not just plain rice, but incredibly fragrant and slightly savory, perfectly complementing the strong flavors of the meat dishes. It shows how much attention is given even to the simplest components of the meal. The sambal and pickles served on the side add a nice contrast, making each bite exciting and well-balanced.
Service here is quick and friendly, and despite the popularity of the place, the staff manages the crowd efficiently. The restaurant can get busy, especially during lunch or dinner time, but the turnover is quite fast so you wonât have to wait too long. Prices are very reasonable for the portion and quality you get, making it a great value-for-money spot.
Overall, I highly recommend Sate Pak Pong 2 if youâre looking for an unforgettable goat satay experience in a casual, local setting. Whether youâre a tourist or a local food lover, this is the kind of place that makes you want to come back...
Read moreI've been to the other branch and the waiting line takes about 2 hours, so they lead me to this branch. People said that this is the original place. Compared to the huge and popular spot, this one is rather small. It can only fit about 30 people max. But, the line is bearable, its about 30 minutes wait to get your food. I came at 7.30 PM and my order is delivered around 8. The place is for those who could eat and didn't bother with the surrounding. It is understandable because the place is always packed and they used charcoal for cooking and grilling the meat. Speak of the meat and the food, I can say they tasted exceptional for the price. Yes, its worth the price. The meat will cost you about 24k-30k rupiah, drinks are flat at 3k rupiah. The meat is juicy, soft and not gamey at all. The sate klatak is perfect, its very light to the point of teasing you to order another portion. It came with a little soup and both the soup and sate was seasoned well. I also ordered Tengkleng where I got a bone marrow too. There was a bowl of Gulai and Tongseng. Every dish is seasoned well and its light, ones that makes you feel you didn't have enough. Tongseng is rather sweet, its my favorite. The gulai is rich with herbs, but again, it is light in taste. I recommend you to get to this place. It's worth the price. But if its a 2 hour wait, not...
Read moreSERVICE TOO LONG!! We drove faraway here just to got disappointed because I waited very long here around ONE HOUR, so I called the waitress and they said that THEY LOST MY ORDER!! The previous waitress didn't forward it to others when they changed shift. I didn't understand the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) here, like why we even write on order note when your employee ask again every table whether it's drink or food and then forget to proceed đ So I told waitress to takeaway my orders. The satay didn't tastes good because it's already cold when I arrived. DEFINITELY WON'T COMING BACK, I'D RATHER TRY THE ONE ON WONOKROMO...
