Kelong Baba is located at Tiban, approximately 20-30 mins from Nagoya / Batam Centre. I think anyone would easily find this place just follow the map.
This place is quite fancy and IG-able for a kelong-like seafood restaurant especially in Batam. I personally a lil bit amazed by the concept and design. It has transparant curtains cover up every side of the kelong so our face won't get smashed by the wind while having our meal, but surprisingly we can still feel the gentle sea breeze. We also can sit 'outside' the kelong with a smaller table (for 2-4 persons) to get a closer sea vibes.
The service also did not disappoint me, everything went as expected. Despite the place is crowded (at dinner time), it doesn't take too long for the food to be ready. Here what we ordered (and my rating out of 100): Rajungan Saus Shangrila 85 (fresh and sweet) Rajungan Steam Baba 70 (i would prefer if they don't put ginger just plain steam. The ginger is overpowering the sweetness and the sea taste of crab) Kerapu Steam Hongkong 80 Bawal Asam Pedas 85 (the sourness is great) Sotong Tumis Tinta 95 (speeclessly delicious) Sotong Goreng Tepung 85 (crispy and yummy) Kangkung Terasi 75 Gonggong Rebus 85 (fresh and sweet) Udang Mabuk 95 (the shrimp is damn fresh) Pangsit Goreng 95 (love it)
The price is above average, i think it still reasonable.. The place is cozy, fancy, and the restroom is clean. And the most important are the service and the food is great.
Overall, I personally highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for seafood......
Read moreDecided go to this place because my auntie told me that the place is really good and affordable. I live near Nongsa and my friend live in Piayu. We come to this restaurant with high expectations even we go through traffic jammed and such long distances. I was going to this restaurant for review the place, for team gathering which is plan since month ago but not decided the restaurant yet, we would like to go to another seafood restaurant since almost all the time go to Piayu. Also, next week my colleague from Singapore come and if the place is good then I would like bring him to this place. We come 4 person, as we are new we order with packages. As we don’t know yet how order by the portions. The staff offer the packages but we need to pay charges because we are not member of the restaurant. Then I tell the staff I can be the member that time, but even we got to register we still have to pay, as the membership can not use right away. I am not offended by the price actually, but I am as Indonesian citizen since born and still have to pay to eat at Indonesian restaurant and in Indonesia of course, such as funny is it?
View is good, then we took some photo after eating The food is standard, not really nice as people say, I can get better seafood in town and with the price abit low than this place. I guess I pay not for food but for the view. The staff explained the package not detailed initially until I ask some questions. At the end, actual experience not like what we are expecting. Hope this review can make the...
