We loved our two evenings at Bencoolen Cafe. Some much needed pizza and lasagne after too much mie and nasi. We found the italian pizza crust version a bit too thin and opted for the american style the second night. It was far from a thick american base though and just perfect. There is also cold beer to finish everything off. The menu was actually cheaper than we expected it to be. Read moreBencoolen Coffee House, just across from the historic British colonial cemetery, dishing out standard traveler fare. It is a nice, simple and reasonably quiet coffee house and is also rather popular with expats. Housed in a tastefully renovated old building, the coffee house serves good Indonesian and European food. The menu ranges from nasi goreng (fried rice) to pizza, from tea to cold beer. Average taste of drink.
The coffee house also has outdoor seating and free Wi-Fi service. On weekend nights, the coffee house is packed with young locals. Adequate parking space.
Thanks to its friendly staff. Very pleased overall. #expat...
Read moreThis was my second time in this restaurant in Bengkulu. Both times the service has been excellent as has the food. The food was excellent, my western dish was excellent and my Indonesian friend said likewise of his Indonesian food. Great ambiance, very low key with indoor and outdoor seating. I will most definitely return while in Bengkulu. A must to visit if you are a local...
