Sumpit Mas, a halal Chinese food restaurant located in Bengkulu, offers a diverse menu that blends traditional Chinese flavors with a halal twist. Here’s a detailed review of some of their dishes:

Ayam Goreng Wijen - 7/10

The Ayam Goreng Wijen (fried sesame chicken) was somewhat underwhelming. While the sesame added a pleasant aroma and flavor, the chicken itself was too dry. The overall taste seemed to rely heavily on the sesame, missing the balance and juiciness expected from a well-executed fried chicken dish.

Brokoli Jamur - 9/10

The Brokoli Jamur (broccoli with mushrooms) was a standout. The vegetables were fresh, with the broccoli and carrots providing a delightful crunch. The savory seasoning was perfectly balanced, making this dish a must-try for vegetable lovers. It’s a testament to how simple ingredients, when cooked right, can shine on their own.

Kwotie - 8,5/10

The Kwotie (dumplings) were a delightful surprise. Despite their small size, they packed a punch in terms of flavor. The mixture of herbs and minced chicken was well-seasoned, and the aroma was enticing. These dumplings make for a delicious appetizer or snack, though a slightly larger size could enhance the eating experience.

Mantau - 8/10

The Mantau (steamed buns) had a good texture and taste, characteristic of a well-made mantau. However, they were slightly oily, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant experience. If the oiliness can be reduced, these buns could easily become a favorite.

Overall Experience

Sumpit Mas offers a solid dining experience with a range of well-prepared dishes. While there are areas for improvement, especially with the Ayam Goreng Wijen, the restaurant’s strengths in dishes like Brokoli Jamur and Kwotie showcase its potential. The pricing is on the higher side, with a meal for two costing around 180k IDR, but the quality and flavor of the food make it worth it. Additionally, the restaurant’s ambiance and menu make it a suitable choice for family dining. With its commitment to halal ingredients and traditional Chinese flavors, Sumpit Mas is a commendable choice for those seeking halal Chinese cuisine...

Sumpit Mas Restaurant is one of popular Chinese food restaurants in Bengkulu. This place is located on Jl. Adam Malik, KM 9. My visit to this restaurant is never disappointing. The foods are taste great, the beverages are refreshing and the ambiance is nice. This restaurant serves wide variety of food like fried rices, vegetables, steamboat, dumplings, fish dishes, and many more.

My favorites are the black pepper beef, sweet and sour chicken, and broccoli garlic....

I have been in this restaurant in two different times. Both times the food has been good, the service the first time was off. I ordered and they forgot my food. In any case, it is a Chinese food restaurant and the food is very good. Unfortunately for me, I cannot eat spicy food, so this is a good escape from the Indonesia cuisine that is so great but so spicy. I enjoyed this restaurant and will certainly be back on...

Taste wise it deserves five stars. Try signature Kakap Steak. Served in a hotplate, it gives a different way of serving fish. Shabu-shabu provides natural balance to the sweety steak. In a small city of Bengku, this restaurants stands out for its competing level to those in big cities.

a Chinese food restaurant with halal certification, providing nice and tasty dishes. The “crazy” fried rice is the highlight here, among with the Tofu hotplate, eggplants and the tom yum fish. VIP room available for booking and the tea with no additional cost.
