This sundanese restaurant is famous in Bogor since they only open here nowhere else / no branch! A lot of people from outside Bogor made time to eat here. Well, no wonder because the food, ambience, and varieties of dishes were good, with fast service, proper portion, and reasonable price. Their open air (semi outdoor) dining area was big and spacious, has a small children playground and lake filled with fishes, your children can feed them (one small plastic of pellet cost 5-10k).
Ok for the food, I've tried their small grilled gourami (118k), Gado-gado (boiled various veggies mixed with nut sauce) is 26k, Grilled stinky beans/petai 16k, steamed yunyi tofu in banana leaves/pepes (16.5k), steamed anchovies in banana leaves/pepes (13.5k), and enjoy all that meals with nasi timbel (steamed rice wrapped inside a banana leaf) 10k and close it with ice lolly (10k). Those were some of the dishes and beverages my family have tried although in reality there were more of them..
Saung kuring is one of the regular Sundanese resto I visit, somehow everytime my family wants to eat Sundanese cuisine we will pick this place. Maybe because the location is strategic at Sholeh Iskandar street, easy to locate for outcomers.
During Eid Mubarak, they rise the price only...
Read moreWe had family lunch at this established and popular Sundanese restaurant in Bogor on recent weekend getaway. We ordered some fish, beef and veggie dishes. They're all great Sundanese dishes and we especially love the grilled gurame fish, maranggi beef satay and the fermented bean (tauco) infused and stir-fried genjer green vegetables.
The place's ambience is great where you get your own family station (saung) to enjoy your meal in a semi private situation. The customer services from staff members are reasonable for such busy restaurant. Prices on the menu are quite good value for money. The best thing is the restaurant does not charge excessive service charges like other restaurants in Indonesian big cities. Customers only pay additional standard PB1 tax and can pay with credit /...
Read moreI had a good overall experience the last time I came here.
The food was good in my standards, but a little bit too salty in my opinion. I ordered nasi timbel komplit with empal, I think that the rice was good and smelled great because it’s covered in banana leaf, but a bit too dry, and the empal is great in texture, but a bit too bland (the spices was not soaked in the meat enough).
The service was very great, the workers there would welcome you and give you the vip treatment the moment you step out of the car, and they were responsive enough.
The atmosphere was great as well. The restaurant looked so homey and aesthetic because it was built on top of fish pond(?) so it would not be too hot and had the...
