Gudeg is one of Central Java's favorite dish, whether from Solo, Jogja or Semarang, although mostly Gudeg is more famous in Solo and Jogja. But Gudeg Merak Mati is a famous Gudeg in Semarang area and they are mostly full from the early morning till they close around 13.00.
We went there before 8 am, although in Google it says it opens at 8, but it did not open until around 8.30 am. No matter, the most important thing is it was open.
And it taste delicious, not too sweet like Jogja, or savory like Solo, a bit in the middle. Their most fave menu is Gudeg Koyor.
