KFC Cilacap — Restaurant in Central Java

I write regarding my last 2 recent experiences at KFC Cilacap. (Mind you, we are frequent visitors to the store, at least twice a month). But the last 2 visits left us with an unpleasant taste and experience.

The first visit was on 14 September 2022 at around 4.00pm WIB. We invited 6 families, about 20 people to dine there to celebrate my son's birthday.

Our first disappointment was when we tried to order the promotional meal KFC Attack. We were told by the cashier that we were not allowed to consume that packet onsite. Upon hearing that, we turned around and saw other consumers eating/dining on the same promotional packet at the store.

Despite asking to speak to the manager, he was also adamant at not allowing us to dine in if we ordered that promotional meal. How disappointing and unprofessional.

To add insult to injury, we tried to order the burger meal (super meal besar 4) for our guests as there were kids who wanted burgers instead of rice.

Imagine our surprise and more frustration and disappointment when we were told there were no burgers. We tried to order other meal packets which had burgers but the same anawer. NO BURGERS in the store. Come on, not even one burger for other meal packets at 4pm????

In the end, we were forced to order only rice and chicken meals for our guests, causing disappointment to the kids who were expecting burgers.

That was the first fiasco we had at KFC Cilacap on 14 September.

Our next disappointment was on 17 September 2022 as my children wanted to eat there again. This was around 1.30pm WIB.

We ordered the super meal besar 4 as this is what we usually ordered when dining there. To our surprise, we were told that it was RP38K instead of the RP31K which were used to paying. When I pointed to the advertisement board which showed RP31K and asked the cashier, she rudely replied, "belum di update pak".

Eventually we ordered 3 super besar 4 meals and 1 super besar 5 meal. For the super besar 5, there was a promotion that for every super besar 5 or 6 meal, there was a free piece of chicken. We were told they would send the free chicken to us but until the end of our meal, we didn't get the piece of chicken.

It's not about not getting the free chicken I am writing about. But the Ignomity of it all, the lack of principles and seriously lackadaisical attitude of the cashier and manager included. This deteriorating service is something we have noticed in recent months but have been brushing it aside.

However, push has come to shove and I am incensed enough to write you about it, especially after our last 2 visits.

Needless to say, I have informed my friends and relatives of this poor service and lack of principles and to avoid going to KFC. I myself will NOT be going there any time soon. We are frequent travellers overseas so we are aware of what constitutes good service and...

The place is relatively small, only one floor. But the customers are quite packed, so people have to look fast for empty table in rush hour. High chair or baby chair are available but seems like it's custom made from complete iron, so it is very uncomfortable for baby to sit. The taste of the chicken itself is not like regular kfc, taste differently. I dont know why.
