Merbabu View & Cafe — Restaurant in Central Java

Access to this place really challenging and pretty far since this place on mount merbabu.. the road in narrow and steep but the good things is local people really helpful to manage the traffic so it won't stuck (since some of the road only for 1 car).. the restaurant itself has a beautiful mountain view but pretty unlucky on my visit were cloudy and light rain so the view can't be seen well.. this restaurant has a lot of outdoor area rather than indoor area.. it is pretty cold on a windy weather but still nice.. the only setback I experience is the order taker, when I want to order hot tea (teh panas) they said out of stock but when I order ice tea (es teh) they had it.. it's pretty funny since the basic ingredients is the same but it's their management call.. I think it will be better if the management think thoroughly before make those menu selection😁😁 Overall, it's a good place with a good food, a good view and could be better with friendly services..

PS: the parking lot is limited but the parking staff really...

at the first glance, the place sure is eye-catching. we were lucky that the weather was nice, we were able to see mounts telemoyo and ungaran. The place isn't too small or too big either, so it wasn't too crowded. The parking space isn't really spacious, it's easy to get in but pretty hard to get out, but if you're using motorcycle then it won't be a biggie.

For foods and beverages, I'll give 3/10. I ordered the tom yum ramen and the noodles were slimy and had the taste of steel. The fried broccoli was fried with a great amount of bread crumbs, which made the broccoli hard to bite and it hurted the roof of my mouth. The beverages are standard, it's not outstanding or whatsoever, but I suggest not to order hot chocolate, it tastes so bland.

I hope they elevate their food and beverages, put more canopies, and get rid of the flies somehow, because there were so many flies when we're there. We got some flies on our foods and drinks.

Nice place for chilling with friends and food! As for the view it’s so so during the night. It’s probably better during the day or sunset or sunrises, but need to come again in order to confirm. As for the service it’s “so so” avg. had to physically go find the staff for napkins or request for water. Food was actually not bad tasting it was interesting that they have a fusion and some local Indonesian food, but for some reason I had a bad stomachache that night. Need to confirm on my next visit if it’s their food or maybe I ate something from some place else! The Decor was interesting nicely decorated truly gives you an out of country feel! But yes it is quite remote and in the middle of no where takes awhile to get to but it is worth the experience if you are nearby!
